The Millennium Age (1000 year reign of Christ on the earth) is a subject that not many Endtime authors speak about. But this is a time period that deserves to be addressed.
During the Millennial Age, Satan will be bound and out of action until the end of time. The agent that binds Satan is an angel. The duration of his confinement will be a thousand years. The purpose for his confinement is so that he will no longer be able to deceive the nations. However, at the end of that period he will be loosed "a little season."
John apparently saw three groups of saints. He saw first those who sat on the thrones and who shared in the judging, apparently a reference to the church (cf. I Cor. 6:2; II Tim. 2:12). Then he saw a particular group of martyrs- those who were beheaded. Literally the word means killed with an ax. This means of execution was practiced in ancient Rome. Finally, he saw those who had refused to worship the beast and receive his mark. They (referring to this last group) live and reign with Christ for this millennial period.
After the worst seven years the world will ever know will follow The Millennium Age, which will be considered the greatest time period the world will ever know. This will be a very prosperous time period in which humans will live hundreds of years. Those who die at hundred years old will be considered dying prematurely. Wild animals, considered dangerous man eaters, will be led around by children. Everyone will know the Lord.
The Lord will be in total control. There will be world peace and no crime. Unemployment will be non-existent, and any sickness that does occur, will be healed by the Lord. This will almost be a perfect world. I say almost because the nations will still have a choice. Some nations will only bow to the Lord because they have to.
At the end of the 1000 years, Satan will be released. As before, he will deceive many on the earth and many will be eager to follow him to battle against the Lord. Itís hard to believe that after living in an almost perfect world of prosperity, security and love, that Satan would find so many willing rebels. But this will be a very short battle that will end in total defeat of Satan and his army of nations.
Satan will then be permanently cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented day and night forever and ever. And many will look on him in disbelief that he was the one that so easily deceived the nations of the world.
