give up weapons of mass destruction, Iraq has stepped up its quest for nuclear
weapons and has embarked on a worldwide hunt for materials to make an atomic
bomb, Bush administration officials said today. In the last 14 months, Iraq has sought to buy thousands of specially designed
aluminum tubes, which American officials believe were intended as components of
centrifuges to enrich uranium. American officials said several efforts to
arrange the shipment of the aluminum tubes were blocked or intercepted but
declined to say, citing the sensitivity of the intelligence, where they came
from or how they were stopped. The diameter, thickness and other technical specifications of the aluminum
tubes had persuaded American intelligence experts that they were meant for
Iraq's nuclear program, officials said, and that the latest attempt to ship the
material had taken place in recent months. The attempted purchases are not the only signs of a renewed Iraqi interest in
acquiring nuclear arms. President Hussein has met repeatedly in recent months
with Iraq's top nuclear scientists and, according to American intelligence,
praised their efforts as part of his campaign against the West. Iraqi defectors who once worked for the nuclear weapons establishment have
told American officials that acquiring nuclear arms is again a top Iraqi
priority. American intelligence agencies are also monitoring construction at
nuclear sites. While there is no indication that Iraq is on the verge of deploying a nuclear
bomb, Iraq's pursuit of nuclear weapons has been cited by hard-liners in the
Bush administration to make the argument that the United States must act now,
before Mr. Hussein acquires nuclear arms and thus alters the strategic balance
in the oil-rich Persian Gulf. Prime Minister Tony Blair of Britain met with
President Bush today to reaffirm his nation's support for action against Iraq. Iraq's nuclear program is not Washington's only concern. An Iraqi defector
said Mr. Hussein had also heightened his efforts to develop new types of
chemical weapons. An Iraqi opposition leader also gave American officials a
paper from Iranian intelligence indicating that Mr. Hussein has authorized
regional commanders to use chemical and biological weapons to put down any
Shiite Muslim resistance that might occur if the United States attacks. The paper, which is being analyzed by American officials, was provided by
Abdalaziz al-Hakim of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, an
Iran-based group, during his recent visit with other Iraqi opposition leaders in
Washington. END The last email alert I sent out I stated that this war could explode into a
battle that could affect the whole world. Many
lives could be lost and others drawn in as emotions come to a fever pitch.
It’s very unpredictable. So far, America has weathered the storms and near misses of disaster that have come
over the years. God has been good
to us and I expect that to continue as we all do.
But it’s time to take care of business now or face an uncertain future
of terror and destruction. I hope
that we have not allowed the detractors to delay what should have been done 10
years ago. As we approach the
one-year anniversary of 9/11, I hope we will have the good sense to remember
what lengths terrorism will go to destroy freedom-loving people. They care not what color or religion you maybe, but that they have
striped you of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
May God have mercy and bless us as we continue to fight the evil of this
world. As a teacher of the Gospel and a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ I must
point out a few things that the Lord has called to my attention.
One day this world is going to suffer unprecedented war like it has never
seen before. It’s possible that one of the wars prophesied may come
before the tribulation period begins. Let’s address a few of the battles that will one day take place.
Both Revelation 6:3-8 (2nd, 3rd & 4th
seals) and Ezekiel 38 & 39 (Russian/Arab attack on Israel) speak of last day
wars that will be catastrophic. In
fact, the Bible states that over a quarter of the worlds population will be
killed from these two wars. We know
that one of the wars will happen at the beginning of the tribulation period, but
the time period of the Russian/Arab attack on Israel is unknown.
We know that it will happen at a time when Israel has reoccupied its land
but whether it will be before, during, or after the tribulation period is
unclear. Which leads me to the possible present day Gulf War II.
Don’t get me wrong, this war needs to be fought and won, and the sooner
the better. But the possibilities
of an all out military confrontation between Israel and the Arab world is on
high alert whether we recognize it or not.
Let me give you a possible scenario. Sometime winter 2003 allied forces launch an all out attack on Iraq.
Most the world expected this at some point but the swiftness has startled
many and caught them off guard. In the panic, the whole Middle East is put on high alert and ready to strike
a counterattack if necessary. As
the battle begins to rage, allied forces start by systematically breaking down
Iraqi defensive installations. As a
last stand effort, Saddam Hussein has given the order to launch all nuclear and
biological weapons on the attacking forces and especially Israel.
From this attack a few missile have reached the Israeli population
causing massive death and destruction. Some
have even struck Arab countries, and in the confusion, has lead them to believe
that they are under attack by Israeli forces. Allied forces have persuaded Israel to stay out of the attack for fear that it
might set off a Middle East war. But
the destruction is too great to ignore and an Israeli counterattack in sues.
Word reaches the Arab world that Israel has entered the war against Iraq,
and in the process, has also attacked other Arab countries. A plan for an all out attack on Israel has been in the works for many years,
but was not to be implemented until after a Palestinian state was deeply
entrenched in the region. The red alert is sound and the
attack on Israel begins. Word gets back to the allied command that Israel is under heavy attack by the
Arab forces...and Russia is leading the fight! Stretched to its limits and not willing to engage in a full
blown Middle East war, allied command is forced to turn away from Israel and
concentrate on the battle at hand. Israel
is left to deal with the invading armies alone. Of course, many who are reading this will discount this possibility as an
imagination run amuck…and maybe they’re right…this time!
I only bring about speculation and possibilities.
Not all my speculations have correct timing, but if scripture is true and
we know that it is, one day it will all come to pass just as the Bible foretold
many years ago. One day, Israel will be attacked by the Arab world, and yes,
one day a quarter of the world’s population will be wiped out from a single
war. This will happen!
Whether it will be this time or the next I do not know but it will
happen. I ask you again…pleading, are you ready to meet the Lord today!
