(BBC) Iraq is a "grave and gathering danger", President Bush has told world leaders in a keynote speech at the United Nations.

He told the General Assembly that the United States wanted to work through the Security Council - but warned that military action would be unavoidable if Iraq failed to comply with UN resolutions.

"The Security Council resolutions will be enforced - the just demands of peace and security will be met - or action will be unavoidable. A regime that has lost its legitimacy will also lose its power." Iraq has dismissed Mr. Bush's speech, warning that a US attack would start "an uncontrollable fire". Mr. Bush's speech brought a mixed reaction around the world. END

And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Revelation 16:16-18

As stated in earlier articles, I feel very strongly about thr U.S. attacking Iraq. They are in defiance of many of the treaty stipulations. But beyond that, they are bent on acquiring nuclear weapons for the purpose of destroying the free world.

Unfortunately, our military superiority and wealth over the rest of the world has made most of the nations to hate us with a deep hatred. Even the countries that seemingly are our allies, inwardly hate us with a passion and long to see us destroyed.

Listed in the verse above describes a great nation of the last days who made the whole world rich and lorded its power over the antichrist and his ten nation kingdom. The Bible declares that in that day that the antichrist and the ten nations will hate the whore, who I believe to be the U.S., and will destroy her. In the description of the destruction of this great nation it goes on to say that it will be destroyed in one hour (Revelation 18:10, 17, 19). Some would argue the meaning of "one hour" but the fact of the matter is it won't take long.

Even if the U.S. abandoned Israel tomorrow they would still be the second most hated nation in the world. Being in league with the United Nations is like allowing your worst enemies to look out for your best interest.

As far as proof of nuclear weapons is concerned, we wouldn't be having this debate if Iraq upheld its end of the treaty and re-admitted weapons inspectors without restraints. The bottom line is the weapon inspectors were not allowed to do their job and were banned from certain areas. That is not in keeping with the treaty conditions. That alone constitutes military action.

It would be nice if the U.N. had the guts to enforce the treaty conditions, and who knows maybe they will. But I don't see that happening especially since two of the permanent U.N. members are business partners of Iraq (Russia & France). I heard one analyst say that the reason why the U.N. is so reluctant to overthrow Saddam's government is for fear of who it may uncover as Iraq's terror partners. The U.N. better hope Saddam has a good paper shredder.
