of a war with Iraq are we talking about? My son in 23 years old - is he
going to be drafted, or with prophetic events happening so quickly, is the
rapture right around the corner before war explodes? Grant Jeffreys says
that America will do a "quick" job and everyone will be surprised with the
technology America has (that we don't know about) to rid Iraq of Saddam;
Kim Clement says that what the older Bush didn't finish, the younger Bush
will; Pat Robertson says he thinks the "job" will be quick also, but not sure.
I know you're very busy, but I would appreciate a comment, especially the
one addressing young men everywhere, esp. my son's
age..............blessings Answer It's easy to say what will happen. The Iraqis are less capable than in the early 1990s. They can't beat the U.S.
What the real problem will be is that we don't know what they have as far as fire power. Do they have long range capabilities, how far along are they in their nuclear program. I doubt they are capable of lobbing a nuclear bomb onto our shores, but I don't know, and I defy anyone to refute it. We were shocked when North Korea disclosed that they were well into a nuclear program. We will eventually have to deal with them.
Truthfully, forget about Iraq, they will be more trouble than the Taliban but I don't see this being a major war. Although, I do see the possibility of Israel being lured into the fight and disrupting the Middle East. This could bring about mixed signals that could spark a major war. That's the real problem.
Will this be a fast and easy war? The swiftness will be determined by how fast the Iraqi people turn on Saddam. If they stay loyal it will take somewhat longer than the takeover of Afghanistan. You must remember that in Afghanistan we had the Northern Alliance freedom fighters, they did a lot of the groundwork. If the U.S. can enlist the Kurds to do what the Northern Alliance did in Afghanistan, we may not have to use that many U.S. ground troops. Let them storm Bagdad and do the house to house searches and let the U.S. supply tank, intelligence and air support. At this time, that doesn't look to be the plan.
Getting back to North Korea. For too long, countries such as North Korea have gone unchecked, and for this reason, we will have to make some very hard decisions in the near future. Those hard decisions will include forcibly disarming countries. Some will have nuclear capabilities that maybe capable of reaching U.S. shores.
Unfortunately, we live in a much more dangerous world than in the 1990s, and it's getting more dangerous with each passing day. Why do I say this? Countries all over the world are drawing closer to becoming nuclear capable, and on top of that, the bombs are getting smaller. Long-range capability is not necessary anymore. A suicide bomber will eventually walk into mainstream America with a nuclear suitcase bomb and blow himself up leaving a major city uninhabitable. I don't foresee this happening until after the rapture takes place but it will happen.
Is President Bush a warmonger? Absolutely not! He's been forced to take on a dangerous task that the previous administration allowed to happen. With military cuts and poor intelligence, America fell asleep in the 1990s while other countries were developing nuclear technology. Yes, we have our smart bombs and unmanned drones, but a country with nuclear bombs, who maybe weaker and less intelligent, put themselves on an even playing field. This decade will be a time that will require great courage and many people may have to die.
This does sound quite bleak and I don't wish to cause alarm. But there is one thing you should know, this possible war has nothing to do with the rapture...it's just another war and a cog in God's ultimate plan. The real sign happened 54 years ago when Israel was reborn as a nation just as the Bible predicted over 2000 years ago. Jesus promised, when that happened, that a generation would not pass away until He comes for His bride. That generation is coming to an end soon. I encourage you to look for the coming of the Lord for He could come at any moment.
