"In selecting its next targets," the F.B.I. alert said, "sources suggest Al Qaeda may favor spectacular attacks that meet several criteria: high symbolic value, mass casualties, severe damage to the American economy and maximum psychological trauma. The highest-priority targets remain within the aviation, petroleum and nuclear sectors, as well as significant national landmarks." The New York Times
A U.S. lead peace plan has been put on the back burner until after Israeli elections are held in late January 2003. The new prime minister will then direct his full attention to the plan. One of the chief architects of the plan is U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan.
"The peace initiative envisages a provisional Palestinian state by 2003, with each side taking steps in the interim to halt more than two years of violence. The Palestinians would be granted full statehood by 2005, according to the plan." AP
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is ahead on three separate polls by at least ten points. At this time he is projected to defeat Benjamin Netanyahu for the top spot in the upcoming general elections. Palestinian terrorist groups are urging Palestinians not to carry out any attacks on Israel until after their elections are over. They are fearful that a terrorist attack could swing the election over to Netanyahu who is against any negotiations with the Palestinians. This should serve as a wake up call for Sharon that he has been way to soft over the two-year uprising.
The bottom line is, this world has become dramatically more dangerous since 9/11 in the U.S., Israel and the Far East. This is definitely what the Bible meant when it said, "Now this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come (II Timothy 3:1)." I believe that prophecy began on 9/11 and the world since then has proven to be a much more dangerous place.
I do see a catastrophic terror attack happening sooner or later. Will it lead us into war? Eventually, if not at that moment. It is my full belief that terrorism will one day lead us to the brink of global destruction. But one man, for a moment in time, will rise up and seemingly solve the world's problems. It shall come through peace and war that he will bend the will of the world. Before he's done four to five billion people will die.
Many scoff at the thought of this one day happening…but it will. Are you ready to meet the Lord!
