January 10, 2003 This is starting out to be a very dangerous year not only for the U.S. but the world at large. North Korea is sticking to its guns on pulling out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. As you may know, North Korea is essentially being paid not to pursue a nuclear program. Upon being confronted with the possibility that sanctions maybe imposed they immediately responded by saying that any sanctions placed upon them would be considered an act of war. This U.S.-North Korean showdown has been described as a precursor to World War III. The U.S. claims that it's serious but can be worked out diplomatically.
During the press conference the North Korean representative restated that the pullout was for the purpose of pursuing an alternate source of electricity for their country. But he did make clear that they reserved the right to branch out in the future to explore other possible uses. As of today, North Korea has officially withdrawn from the treaty. This will prove to be a very dangerous situation and the world will be forced to deal with it. Many millions will die from the aftermath.
Israel is temporarily on the world news back burner, but I'm sure that won't last long. Tony Blair's declaration that achieving peace in the Middle East (Israel/Palestine) was the key to world peace is still a very shocking statement by a very powerful world leader. I see the E.U. making him the new permanent leader and taking on a new role as peacemaker. As I speak now, he maybe the eventual antichrist. He certainly brings about suspicion and has been favored by many experts to ultimately be named to the top spot in the E.U. Although, it is generally believed that the antichrist will rise from obscurity very quickly.
Speaking on the antichrist, a U.S. war is not only bad for the U.S. economy but bad for the world economy as well. The U.S. is on the brink of war with Iraq and will eventually be looking down the barrel of another terrorist nation…possibly two! The economic future of the world is definitely on hold and doesn't look to be getting any better anytime soon. A war with Iraq would surely upset the world markets, but a war with an alleged nuclear armed nation such as North Korea could send them spiraling out of control. I don't see the world economy getting any better and war and the rapture (if it takes place simultaneously) will make it worse. It will take a great financial as well as military mind to restore peace and order to this world.
It has been reported that Russia and Iraq are sharing intelligence information. For years I have said that I believe Russia is about ready to make a comeback on the world front. I still believe they are secretly building an alliance with various countries throughout the world. The extent of their alliances will shock the world in the near future.
India is at it again, but this time they say that they are testing their military might because of the threat they perceive coming out of China. Actually, that's the smartest thing they said in decades. One day China will rise up and crush everything in it's path. But that won't happen until the latter part of the tribulation period.
I have been getting emails asking the question "How long do I think it will be before the rapture occurs?" Of course, nobody knows that answer, but the scriptures do say that we as Christians are not to be ignorant of subjects such as the lasts days and the rapture (I Thessalonians 4:13-18, 5:1-10). Most Bible believing scholars if pinned down would have to say very soon. Personally, I believe that it might be very soon. Could it be this year? It could be today! Nothing else has to be fulfilled including the rebuilding of the third Jewish temple. That can and most likely will be a part of the agreement that the antichrist will propose for peace with Israel.
I stand in the same position I have always stood and that is if the Lord comes today that's great. If He chooses to come tomorrow I wait on Him. You see it's not the circumstances that I serve but the Lord Jesus Christ. Whenever He chooses to come and whatever circumstances may arise (persecution or death) I will still look to the Lord for guidance and direction in my life. If we as Christians take this stand we won't worry about tomorrow and will allow the Holy Spirit to guide us for today.
