February 5, 2003 After watching Colon Powell present ironclad evidence that Iraq was in breach of the treaty, I am convinced that war is imminent. I'm still quite puzzled why Saddam has hardened his heart. Frankly, it reminds me of the time when the Pharaoh of Egypt refused to let the children of Israel go even after suffering countless plagues and death. One of the things that stood out was that many times God hardened his heart so that His mighty power would be displayed. Could this be the case with Saddam Hussein? Is the Lord on the verge of doing something miraculous?
With that said, I have been receiving numerous emails from readers who believe that this war may trigger the rapture. That could be possible! The rapture could occur at any moment, but it will be in God's timing. In all likelihood this war will come and go just as the Afghan War did. Yes, we are getting closer to the time when we will depart, but this may only be a stepping-stone to that eventual day.
A word regarding yesterday's article about Tony Blair. I stated that I have a suspicion that he maybe the eventual antichrist. Of course, that's only speculation, but he is my first choice. But it should be stated that at this time I don't believe he, or whomever it turns out to be, knows that he will be the coming antichrist. I'm not saying that the antichrist is not at this time being groomed, but I don't believe that he is aware of it. Satan maybe carrying him up the political latter just waiting for the time that he will be able to make his presence known. The antichrist will literally make a deal with the devil. After that he will explode to the political forefront.
Satan doesn't realize that he is only a character in God's final chapter. At this time, he truly believes that he's in total control, and in the end, will defeat God in the war of wars. Does Satan know the scriptures? Sure he does, but without the Holy Spirit (no one can understand), he's living in denial of the truth. Actually, when he's finally cast into the lake of fire he'll be cursing God on the way down.
When God raptures the church the Holy Spirit will be taken as well since He resides in the heart of all believers. But at the beginning of the tribulation period the Holy Spirit will refill the hearts of the 144,000 witnesses to preach the Gospel. Many will come to know the Lord during this time period, but it will cost the majority their lives.
