Learn what will happen during the tribulation period from beginning to end
Your comments and questions are always welcome. To send comments and questions please click here to go to our main page. March 21, 2003 According to intelligence sources this war
is going much better then anticipated. They
haven’t heard any communication from the top Iraqi leadership, including
Saddam himself, since the precision strikes at the beginning of the war.
Hundreds of Iraqi soldiers have surrendered and many others are just
walking away from the war. In a couple of days allied forces will have Baghdad
completely surrounded. U.S.
intelligence believes that Saddam is at least seriously injured if not dead.
They have been receiving messages that both may have occurred. Confusion is also building among the ranks
of the Iraqi army as to who is in control.
This could be another sign that Saddam Hussein has become a casualty of
war. It is believed that in a
matter of days allied forces will completely cut off the Iraqi army from its
central command. In essence, each
division is on its own and has no support.
We are literally overwhelming the enemy and tightening the noose little
by little until the day we walk into Baghdad.
If all goes well with the physiological war in Baghdad we may not have to
take the city by force. As I have said in the past, we are on a
crusade to disarm and unseat a ruthless killer that has nothing to do with oil.
Yes, we did help put him in power as we did with many other leaders that
turned out to be poor choices. That
happens when you’re trying to bring stability and control to a region.
And yes, many times this was done with U.S. interests at the heart of the
decision. That’s why it’s not
smart for a country to allow public opinion to sway national security decisions.
If we knew one-tenth of what was going on behind the scenes, things that
are critical to national security, we’d have bleeding hearts protesting
everyday in every major city in America. Thankfully,
we have enough sense to keep most of our top-secret goings on out of the public
eye. It is unfortunate that the first allied
casualties of the war happened last night as eight British and four American
soldiers lost their lives in the line of duty.
Today, two more Americans lost their lives in a successful mission.
My heart goes out to the families and I pray for them that they will find
comfort and the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ in this troubling time. It is now predicted that this war could end
in a matter of days instead of weeks as previously thought.
A lot of prophecy experts were making hay over the significance
of this war in prophecy. Many were
pointing to scripture that this could be the battle with Mystery Babylon of the
Revelation 17 & 18. Unfortunately,
there is no evidence that points to this event taking place before the
tribulation period begins. Also,
the description and final demise of this city/country does not look to match
what will eventually happen to Iraq. Barring some unforeseen circumstance, Iraq
will not be completely destroyed nor will it ever reach the status of Mystery
Babylon no matter how much oil it possesses.
If oil were the answer then Saudi Arabia would be in much better shape
then it is. But without a
democratic state they (Saudi Arabia & Iraq) will always be a couple of
nations consisting of the very rich and very poor.
Look what happened to Russia and its attempt to go democratic. It’s been over twelve 12 years (with U.S. help) and they're
still in desperate financial trouble. The more likely scenario will be that it
will take years to rebuild Iraq, create a democratic leadership and achieve
economic stability. And don’t
forget about the problems that will arise from fighting between the clans for
power. I’m sure we’ve promised
everyone in Iraq a piece of the pie in the post-Saddam Iraqi government. This war is not that much different then the
war in Afghanistan. Sure, Iraq is
more powerful and will probably put up a better fight when we finally get to
Baghdad, but when it comes down to it, the outcome will be about the same.
Actually, the resistance after the war may not be near the problem it’s
been in Afghanistan. We’re still taking sniper fire and periodic resistance from
time to time. To me, Afghanistan
will prove to be much harder to get back on its feet then Iraq. But only time will tell. Don’t look for the U.S. to profit from the
Iraqi oil fields. Anyone that
believes that is still living in denial and just flatly refuses to believe the
truth. Although, I must say, the
people of Iraq owe us around $100 billion dollars for liberating them from their
oppressor. But due to public
opinion, the allies won’t take a penny of free oil and will continue a pay top
dollar for it as they always have. Now I will tell you the real significance of
this war. It will put the world on
notice that the allied forces will not tolerate terrorism or countries that
harbor them, nor those that seek weapons of mass destruction.
In the long run, this war will save America hundreds of billions of
dollars and possibly millions of lives. Of
course, eventually the hand of God will be taken from this world and no amount
of military pressure will stop the impending destruction that must come.
But until that day, look for President Bush and Tony Blair to become an
unstoppable force that will be rocketed to even greater international
prominence. They will prove to the world that they were right about Iraq,
and in the process, uncover some information that many world leaders would
rather had been left unknown. Look
for a string of successful campaigns from these two great leaders.
North Korea will be their next campaign.
I do believe that will be solved diplomatically, but in the end, they
will have to be subdued. That will
be a much harder campaign and many people will die. I also see the U.N. and NATO taking on a
much smaller role in the future. The
U.S. may down play the significance of calling them irrelevant and try to patch
things up, but they will never fully place their trust in either world body
again. Does that end the quest for
a one-world government? On the
contrary! The antichrist will
eventually bring this world together during his reign.
It wouldn’t surprise me if both organizations were forced to disband
when he comes to ultimate power. Sometime in the near future. I see the U.S.
and Britain making a concerted effort to solve the Middle East crisis.
Shortly, after the Iraqi War, look for President Bush and Prime Minister
Blair to introduce a peace plan that could give the talks much needed
credibility and substance. The plan will be a stepping stone to what has already been
introduced. Don’t look for
anything magical to come from this proposal.
The real power behind this plan will be the financial strength and
military power that will be necessary to make it work.
Is it a forgone conclusion that the antichrist will be the sole author of
the eventual peace plan? Traditionally,
it is believed that he will be the one to bring peace to the Middle East, but
that doesn’t necessarily mean that others will not be involved.
But for the sake of argument we will stick with the traditional view. I do believe that whomever the antichrist
turns out to be he will be a trusted friend of Israel’s.
Truthfully, I can’t for the life of me see Israel turning over their
national health and stability to someone that has not been a trusted ally.
For some reason I see the British, with the backing of the U.S., taking
on the role of protector in this plan. In
the end, the antichrist and his kingdom (E.U.) will betray the U.S. and destroy
her. But don’t be alarmed; this
is all in God’s plan even if it looks as though Satan is getting the upper
hand. Besides, we already know how
it turns out. Many of the things that I have speculated
about today probably won’t take place until after the rapture of the church.
But it does give us a little insight on the possibilities that could
shape the immediate future. Are we years away from the rapture and the
tribulation period that will follow? I
don’t think so and daily look for His coming and the rapture of the church.
But that doesn’t keep me from serving the Lord and living out my life
for His Glory. My advice to all my
readers, continue to spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to live life
as if the world were one step away from an eternity in hell.
