in striving for a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
"I do
not underestimate the commitment it will require," he said Wednesday, "but the
prize is enormous."
The road map, drawn up by a diplomatic "quartet" comprising the United Nations (news - web sites), the United States, Russia and the European Union (news - web sites), envisages the creation of a Palestinian state by 2005.

As I look at scripture detailing the activities and characteristics of the future antichrist, all speak of a man still unknown. From scripture I cannot make an intelligent guess based on his Biblical profile. But from what we do know about his future, his kingdom will be just under the most powerful and wealthiest nation in the world (Revelation 17). He will rise up and lead the New Roman Empire back to prominence to again rule the world (Daniel 9:26-27). The countries of the New Roman Empire (E.U.) will lend their power to him (Daniel 8:24; Revelation 17:12) and he will have a steadfast interest in bringing peace to Israel (Daniel 9:27).
Do I know who the antichrist will be? Absolutely not! I do have my suspicions and see a considerable amount of evidence leaning in that direction.
It's strange that in the same generation Israel would once again become a nation, their would also come to the forefront a man that is bent on making peace in Israel a reality. Of course, peace has been attempted in the past and has failed, but we are closer than we have ever been.
One day soon, this man will finally be made manifest and peace will be established temporarily. He will shock and fool the world.
Is the rebirth of Israel and the future peace plan just a coincidence or just prophesied steps foretold in God's Word?
