Sharon
Suggests Future Attacks on Syria
(AP) - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suggested in an interview published Friday
that Israel could strike again at Syrian targets, but backtracked on threats to
expel Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. Sharon's veiled warning to Syria came
two weeks after Israeli warplanes attacked a suspected militant training camp
just north of the Syrian capital, in response to an Islamic Jihad suicide
bombing in the city of Haifa that killed 21.
Sharon
Rules Out Expelling Arafat
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has backed down from a government decision
to expel Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
In an interview with the Jerusalem Post newspaper, Mr Sharon said expelling Mr Arafat "would not be good for Israel".
But the prime minister also said there was little chance of a peace deal as long as Yasser Arafat remained leader of the Palestinians.
EU
Unanimously Favors Defense Policy
Brussels, Oct 17 - EU leaders are unanimously in favour of a European defence
policy that complements rather than rivals NATO, EU president and Italian Prime
Minister Silvio Berlusconi said on Friday.
The United States has accused the European Union of threatening NATO's future by
proposing its own defence initiatives, including a controversial plan by four EU
members for an independent military planning headquarters.
Peace
With Egypt Getting Colder
The IDF continues its offensive in southern Gaza to

Egypt.
Comments
Peace between Israel and Egypt was always just a paper peace treaty. No
telling how long they've been smuggling in weapons to the Palestinian terror
groups. Don't rule out Israel striking out at Egypt in addition to
Syria. Both eventually will have to be dealt with. I look for Iran
to be added to the list soon. These three countries will play a prominent
role in an attack on Israel in the future (Ezekiel 38 & 39).
It doesn't look like Arafat will be expelled. That was a failed policy from the start, but he may end up dying before long anyway. They say it's a stomach ailment but that usually translates into something much more serious.
My book should be out soon. I'm very excited about what God will be doing through this book and the impact it may have in the future.
