Dollar Slips To Record Low Against Euro...
LONDON (Reuters) - The euro powered to fresh record highs against the dollar on Monday, rising above the psychological $1.25 level, as short term traders capitalized on a holiday-thinned market to give the dollar a further beating.

The euro rose more than half a percent to $1.2511 (EUR=: Quote, Profile, Research) in the European midsession, bringing its gains since the start of the year to more than 19 percent.

Israel Warns Of Major 'Non-Conventional' Attack...
Israeli intelligence officials say militant groups are planning a major "non-conventional" attack on New Year's Eve.

Possible targets are holy sites, nursery schools, apartment buildings and hospitals.

Police have been told to prepare for three possible scenarios: an air or sea-based attack or a ground assault involving several simultaneous suicide bombings, the officials said.

Saddam Said To Be Giving Info On Weapons, Funds
DUBAI (Reuters) - Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) has given his U.S. captors information on hidden weapons and as much as $40 billion he may have seized while he was Iraq (news - web sites)'s president, an Iraqi official was quoted as saying on Monday.

"Saddam has confessed the names of people he told to keep the money and he gave names of those who have information on equipment and weapons warehouses," Iyad Allawi, a member of the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council, told the London-based Asharq al-Awsat daily.

Patten Does Not Want Israel In The EU
LONDON (Reuters) - European Union external affairs commissioner Chris Patten says the bloc is nearing the limits of its expansion but he hopes Muslim NATO member Turkey could yet be accommodated.

Patten said, however, it was unlikely Israel, suggested for inclusion by some European politicians, could become a member of the bloc that is due to expand from 15 to 25 members next year.

First China-EU Satellite Launched
The satellite is the first of its kind launched by China. It is part of a space probe programme carried out jointly by China and the European Space Agency (ESA).

I just read over the wire (last night) that the UK has shutdown their embassy in Peru due to security concerns.  Israel and the U.S. are  on high alert as intelligence suggest that a mega attack could take place very soon.  This world is getting very dangerous and look for it to get even more so.

Is it just me or has there been an unusual amount of worldwide coverage on earthquakes as of late?  The Drudge Report was actually featuring a world earthquake map on its site.  For years scoffers have been working overtime to make sure we prophecy teachers didn't point to earthquakes as an end time sign.  They claim deadly earthquakes have not increased, but that the technology to measure them has improved over the years.  They have a rude awakening ahead of them and I feel the rumblings have only begun.

The E.U. is gaining against the dollar again.  That doesn't mean the Euro is becoming  the new world coin...at least not yet.  The dollar isn't going anywhere and the U.S. will continue to be the world leader up until its untimely demise sometime during the tribulation period.  

I do find it unusual that the E.U. is still talking about the real possibility of Israel becoming a member at some point.  You may remember that I brought this to the forefront about a year ago as the possible peace agreement with the antichrist (E.U. membership).  I'm still convinced that this will happen and that a Palestinian state will be born as part of the bargain.  European Union external affairs commissioner Chris Patten may have other plans, but when the antichrist takes charge, those plans will change immediately.

I have to get in a word about Saddam, even though I don't believe he plays any part in prophecy, at least not directly.  If reports are correct, he's singing like a canary regarding the whereabouts of weapons and almost $40 billion dollars he looted from the Iraqi people.  Of course, it's a little early to be saying I told you so!  But I do feel they will eventually unravel the mystery of the missing WMD's.

China and the E.U. just launched a satellite system together.  The scriptures do say that during the tribulation period they will team up and attack Israel (Revelation 16:12).  Could this be the beginning of that prophecy?
