Officials Worry Of Pre-Election Attack...
WASHINGTON -- Even before the bombings in Madrid, White House officials were worrying that terrorists might strike the United States before the November elections.

Now, with the Socialists' surprise election victory in Spain, analysts believe the ballot box rebuke of one of President Bush's closest allies in the war in Iraq could embolden terrorists to try the same tactics in the United States to create fear and chaos.

European Markets Plunge As Terror Fears Spread
EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Markets in Europe have fallen sharply since the terrorist attacks in Madrid as investors fear further attacks, future uncertainty and consumer jitters.

The Spanish market IBEX was the biggest loser, plunging by over four percent. The German stock market DAX fell 2.7 percent and the French CAC 40 fell by 2.4 percent. And London's FTSE dropped to its lowest level in a month, falling by 1.2 percent.

I've had a few email me and comment on what part they believe terrorism will play in the future. Some of the mailers feel that the antichrist will make some sort of deal with terrorist groups and in doing so will put himself in good standing worldwide as the perennial leader.  He may make a deal with some of the more organized terror groups but I don't see that becoming a major factor.

Personally, I believe that terrorism will serve to bring the world closer to becoming a real one-world government.  I look for another strike or two like the one in Spain to occur before the world wakes up and declares an all out war against terrorism.  Someone will come forward and devise a plan to eliminate terror. 

Terrorism will have to be put down completely if the antichrist is to rule the world in the way satan envisions it.  I think a lot of people lose sight of the fact that satan is the god of this world and is in complete control when God allows him to be.  God will allow this for a short time.

According to the Bible's description (Revelation 13) of the antichrist's rule there will come a time when he will be completely unopposed.  

E.U. foreign policy chief Javier Solana is calling for more cooperation internationally if the world is to defeat terrorism.  

Something else that has become apparent is the increasing desire that China have a close relationship with the E.U.  They sound like they would do anything to team up with the E.U., especially if it meant knocking the U.S. down a notch or two.  That's exactly what will take place in the finally battle, the Battle of Armageddon.  China will march from the east to the west teaming up with the antichrist in the ultimate battle.  But in the end we know how this one turns out (Revelation 18).
