Report: World Population Slowing
WASHINGTON - The world's population growth is
slowing because women are having fewer children and more people are dying from
AIDS (news
- web
sites), especially in Africa, according to a Census Bureau (news
- web
sites) report released Monday.
The report forecasts there will be nearly 9.1 billion people by 2050, a nearly 50 percent increase from the 6.2 billion in 2002.

Target Set For European Constitution...
Europe's increasingly divisive debate on a new constitution could be wrapped
up by mid-June, Bertie Ahern, Irish holder of the rotating EU presidency, said
on Monday.
Mr Ahern announced his intention to restart treaty negotiations - which collapsed in acrimony last December - after a meeting in Paris with Jacques Chirac, French president.
"Clearly I believe it is possible to conclude an agreement," he said. "We must do this between now and the June European Council [summit on June 17-18]."
The Irish prime minister was on the final leg of talks with EU leaders ahead of the two-day European Council summit in Brussels starting on Thursday.
Mr Ahern, assessing greater signs of flexibility from the Polish government and the incoming socialist administration in Spain, said the chances of an agreement had improved.
U.S.
Warns Of Major Mideast Attack
ABU DHABI [MENL] -- The United States has warned its nationals to be on alert
for a major attack in the Middle East.
The State Department issued an announcement on Friday that warned of an attack on civilian passenger jets in the Middle East. The announcement said Al Qaida-aligned groups could be planning strikes against U.S. interests in the region.
"Credible information has indicated terrorist groups may be planning attacks against U.S. interests in the Middle East," the department said. "Terrorist actions may include suicide operations, bombings, hijackings or kidnappings."

Arafat May Be Next...
JERUSALEM - Israel's army chief suggested Tuesday that
Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat (news
- web
sites) and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah would eventually be assassinated
by Israel.
The army chief, Lt. Gen. Moshe Yaalon, was asked whether, after Israel's killing of Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin, Arafat and Nasrallah would be next.
"I think that their (Arafat's and Nasrallah's) responses yesterday show that they understand that it is nearing them," Yaalon said.
Comments
According to Israeli army officials, Yassar Arafat maybe next on the
assassination list. This would be long overdue, but I doubt it will ever
come to past. According to Hamas, they now have Prime Minister Ariel Sharon
marked for death. Of course, this doesn't help the peace process, but
truthfully, we've all got our own timetable as to when the tribulation period
will start...and start it will!
Today, Israeli soldiers disarmed another Palestinian child who was in the process of trying to blow himself up. It's amazing to me that anyone would allow this to happen. Can Arab hatred for Israel really run that deep?
By the year 2050 we will have 9.1 billion people on this earth. This is another reason why I believe the Lord must come soon. How much longer can this world sustain a fifty percent increase in population every fifty years? Actually, some believe that estimate is quite low.
Some E.U. leaders now believe that their constitution could be ratified as early as this summer. To me, this would be a major stepping-stone in prophecy. I would go as far to say that the antichrist will not be revealed until the constitution is in place. But, we'll have to see how that plays out.
