Iran Said Nearing Enrichment of Uranium

Iran plans to process tons of raw uranium and restart its centrifuges — two activities that can be used to make nuclear warheads, the U.N. atomic watchdog agency and diplomats said Wednesday.

Israel Targets Senior Operatives
GAZA CITY [MENL] -- Israel's military has targeted senior insurgency operatives in the Gaza Strip.

The operatives were deemed as leading figures in the Palestinian missile strikes from the northern Gaza Strip against Israeli civilian targets. More than a dozen people have been injured in Palestinian missile strikes on the Israeli city of Sderot over the past two weeks.

Arrow-2 Fails To Intercept Scud D
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The Arrow-2 interceptor has failed to destroy an advanced Scud D-type medium-range missile.

The test of the Arrow-2 from the U.S. Navy facility at Point Mugu Sea Range off the coast of southern California marked the greatest challenge yet to the Israeli-U.S. missile defense system. Israeli and U.S. officials said the Green Pine long-range radar detected and tracked the Scud D flight on Thursday, but the Arrow-2 interceptor failed to destroy the target missile.

Comments
The last article I wrote focused on Iran's development of a nuclear weapon by the year 2005.  As I stated in the article, this is a very dangerous development, not so much because the Iranian government is a loose cannon, but more for the fact that it's only a matter of time before Israel takes pre-emptive measures to stop them.  If we know about it you can bet Israeli intelligence knows exactly how close they are and what they must do.  Unlike the U.S., Israel could careless about the world opinion, they realize that they're fighting for their very existnence.

You might say their intelligence could be wrong just as U.S. intelligence was wrong about Iraq's nuclear capabilities.  If you believe that then you're as naive as those who bought into the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction.  When the truth is revealed the world will have to face the fact that Iraq was as close to obtaining nuclear weapons as we know Iran is at this time.  But the scary part is, it's very probable that Iraq would have had nuclear weapons during the first Gulf War if not for Israel's daring bombing of their secret nuclear site in 1982.  If not for that attack, we surely would have faced a danger that many can't even conceive.

I don't think people realize that we live in a day and age where we can't afford to be wrong even once.  Israel knows that truth all to well, and frankly put, doesn't have a choice in the matter.  They must be right everyday or people die.  

For some reason we're more concerned about the short-term conditions of the economy than conserving our long-term health.  Does America really believe that they're untouchable?  It’s unfortunate, but due to this mentality, there will come a day when America will look back and wish they would have paid attention to the warning signs and put a stop to the North Korea's and Iran's of the world.  You can take that to the bank! 

If Iran and North Korea succeed in becoming a nuclear power look for other rogue countries to follow suit.  Next it will be Syria, then Libya, and the dominos will just keep falling until it's completely out of control.  Fortunately, I believe that the Lord will rapture Christian's from this world before it comes down to nuclear war (Revelation 6).

Speaking of the rapture, I'm still waiting for someone to send me their Biblical theory on who will repopulate the earth during the millennium if the rapture doesn't take place until the seventh trumpet (of the tribulation period) or at the second coming of Christ.  If you know the answer to that question or know someone who does have them email me...I'm curious!

Lastly, the Olympics are over and the E.U. has declared themselves the winners.  All combined E.U. medals were in excess of 280 medals with 82 gold metals.  Competing E.U. countries are expected to fly the E.U. flag along with their country flag at the 2008 Olympics in China.  

This maybe insignificant to many but it shows that the E.U. is steadily claiming their supremacy over the United States through sports as the Soviet Union did during the Cold War era.  Sports are a huge show of international strength in the world of diplomacy.  

The E.U. is also home to just over seven percent of the world’s population.  This is another show of strength and growth.

One thing that hasn't had much press in the world of prophecy is the strong ties that are being developed between the E.U. and China.  This alliance will play out at the final Battle of Armageddon where it is believed that the E.U. and China will join forces to destroy Israel once and for all (Revelation 19).  Of course, we know the ending to this story.
