French
'No' Vote On Constitution Would Threaten EU Hopefuls' Membership Chances
There
is little doubt in Brussels that the widely predicted French "no" to
the new EU constitution on 29 May would mean at least a temporary halt to the
enlargement process. Even Bulgaria and Romania -- which have both signed their
accession treaties -- may still prove vulnerable. However, for more distant EU
neighbors with no membership ambitions, the bloc's soul-searching may yet result
in clearer policies.
New Pipeline
Could Cool EU Love Of Russian Oil
A new oil pipeline linking Azerbaijan with Turkey
could see the EU reduce its Russian oil imports by up to a quarter by the end of
the decade, the International Energy Agency (IEA) indicated.
WORLD
ID CARD?...
The United States wants Britain's proposed identity cards to have
the same microchip and technology as the ones used on American documents.
The aim of getting the same microchip is to ensure compatibility in screening terrorist suspects. But it will also mean that information contained in the British cards can be accessed across the Atlantic.
Germany

parliament, the Bundesrat...

President Bush has set the wheels in motion for a Palestinian
state. By welcoming Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
to the White House (something he never did with Yasser Arafat) he sent a message
to the world that he was fully behind and will support the states
creation. I doubt this will put the U.S. in a better light with the Arab
world but it might with the world at large.
A new oil pipeline running through a few of the old Soviet Bloc nations and ending in Turkey is up and running. This new oil line is causing quite a stir in Russia and may eventually pull away up to a quarter of the E.U.'s business. I'm not sure if this pipeline has anything to do with prophecy but I am convinced that oil will play a major role in the last days. I look for Israel to find a major oil discovery everyday.
The way I see it, this pipeline has the potential of pulling major business away from Russia. Obviously, Russia is not at all happy with the U.S. and its supporters for opening it up. If Israel does discover oil, you can bet it will take even more business away from Russia. This maybe what brings Russia down to Israel "to take a spoil" (Ezekiel 38:12).
The German's have officially ratified the European Constitution and France goes to the polls on Sunday. On the eve of the vote, many E.U. officials are nervous that the constitution will receive a "no" vote. This would be a major setback for the E.U. and could put the status of new member nations at stake. I don't expect France to vote "no" but there is a definite possibility.
I believe the antichrist will rise up out of the E.U. presidency, but the constitution will have to be ratified before that can happen. This could take a few years and may extend beyond the upcoming 2007-2013 E.U. budget term. Many of you maybe thinking, "What about the rapture?" That certainly doesn't affect the timing of the rapture. That could happen at any moment. It's always been my belief that there could be a gap between the rapture and the start of the tribulation period that could run on for many years. This will probably be the time when satan will bring his antichrist and false prophet to the forefront preparing them for their revelation at the start of the tribulation period. With Christians gone, and the Holy Spirit out of the way, the world will change dramatically for the worse. I can't imagine living in a day and age that will accept the slaughter of millions of Christians but that day is coming (Revelation 7:9-17).
Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres says that before it's all said and done Israel will have to give up more settlements in the West Bank. I'm not sure whose side Shimon Peres is on but he seems to be ready to give up any and all land that rightfully belongs to Israel. Mr. Peres and the Arab world seem to be living in a dream world. When you attack a nation (Israel), and in the process lose land, that is the cost of defeat.
Lastly, the U.S. wants to partner with Britain to form a uniform identity card that can be read by both nations...kind of a world ID card. This raises the eyebrows of most Christians who view this as the possible future mark of the beast. I wouldn't rule it out, but I tend to believe it will be more of a tattoo since that is how John seems to describe it in the latter part of Revelation 13.
Regarding the article on Famed archeologist Dr. Vendyl Jones (Article# 427: Famed Archeologist Claims He Will Find Ark Of Covenant By August) the jury is still out on whether he is authentic. Since I posted that article I have received other articles indicating he maybe a fraud. We'll have to wait and see if he makes good on his prediction.
