As Europe Anguishes Over Its Future
French President Jacques Chirac ousted his faithful prime minister Tuesday as
heads began to roll after a humiliating defeat over the EU constitution and
Dutch voters prepared to land what may be a knockout blow on the treaty.
Chirac replaced Jean-Pierre Raffarin, who had become the focus for massive public disenchantment with the center-right administration, with Dominique de Villepin, another close ally who had been interior minister.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - An Israeli aircraft fired missiles near a Palestinian
refugee camp Monday, destroying two rocket launchers and wounding three people,
while Israel published a list of 400 Palestinian prisoners to be released later
this week.

The
French "no" vote has sent shock waves through the European Union. With
the Dutch going to the polls tomorrow the "no" camp is said to be as
high as 60 percent. Many are questioning the future of the E.U. and have
lead some in E.U. leadership to call for a halt to the ratification process.
I'm not a prophet but I think it is time to take a look at what many old time Bible scholars have said for years...that the antichrist will burst on the scene and take the world by storm. Not only will he bring peace to Israel but he will also change the world both socially and economically. If the antichrist is to come out of the E.U., and I believe he will, he may have to straighten out this mess first. But this will certainly within his power to do in quick order.
As you know, if you have been a regular follower of my articles, I brought to you an agreement between Israel and the E.U. that is ready to take affect at the beginning of 2007 (Article# 390: ENPI Seven Year Plan). It will last seven years and is designed to incorporate Israel into the E.U. culture but does not guarantee membership. When the term ends in 2013 another term will begin from 2014 to 2020.
Whether or not the constitution setback will affect the ENPI plan is unknown. It is a financial obligation by the E.U. to a number of their neighbors and the money may already be earmarked. My point is this may or may not end up playing a part in the seven-year tribulation plan. Just because it’s seven years in length doesn’t make it so, but it is a strong candidate. You may want to reread the article on the ENPI.
But to be clear, the seven year agreement with the antichrist is just that an agreement with the head of government. At this point in time the E.U. has no permanent head of government and I don't believe the treaty with Israel will come about until they do. Of course it’s possible that the antichrist could make this agreement while being president during his six-month rotation but that’s highly unlikely.
This is what I see for the immediate future in prophecy.
One, I still believe the rapture is imminent and could happen today. When the rapture does take place I am convinced that will be satan's time to raise up his antichrist and false prophet. He will be unhindered at that point since the Holy Spirit will leave with the rapture of all Christians. Once satan has his government in place he will reveal his antichrist who will make a seven year treaty with Israel and probably a host of other nations.
Two, it is my belief that a Palestinian state will already be in place along with a more permanent ceasefire before the antichrist is revealed. Of course, the antichrist maybe the one to orchestrate this peace plan but my feeling is he will come on the scene following the miraculous deliverance by God of Ezekiel 38 & 39.
Three, at some point in the future I believe that Israel will discover a significant amount of oil. I believe this will further cut into Russia's oil market making a considerable dent in their exports to the U.S. and the E.U. Before this discovery Russia will not be interested in attacking Israel but now they have become a serious threat to their economic future. They will team up with a group of very eager Arab nations and attack Israel. The Arab's will finally have the might of a superpower alliance that even the U.S. will not challenge. It is at this time that God will intervene on their behalf. This will be a direct show of miraculous power by God for the whole world to see.
Four, getting back to the collapse of the E.U. constitution! It's hard to say what direction this will take. I would like to think that this collapse would force the E.U. to shed many of the nations they have granted membership to cutting it down to ten.
A second scenario is that a compromise would be made allowing only those nations who are ready to meet the challenges of the E.U. to go forward. The others would follow in a proposed second wave sometime in the future.
In conclusion, I do believe that a leader must rise out of the E.U. (permanent president). It doesn't necessarily have to be the first president it could be a few down the road. But the president who makes a seven-year treaty with Israel will be the man.
It is important to remember that satan will be given the power to do what he has to do to setup his kingdom. Things that look impossible now will turn around in a very short time. Whatever needs to be done by satan will be done to make things go in the direction the Lord has planned.
Many times we try to place current events in a box and when something goes outside the box (E.U. Constitution failure) we become alarmed. Don't worry, the prophecy experts have got it right...we are living in the last days and time is running out.
