March 5, 2002 Posted: 12:40 PM EST (1740 GMT) JERUSALEM (CNN) - "The cycle of terror attacks in the Mideast continued to spiral upward Tuesday, leaving five Israeli civilians dead in three separate attacks and eight Palestinians injured in an explosion at a school. In the latest violent incident Tuesday, an 18-month-old Israeli baby and his mother in the southern Israeli town of Sderot were wounded in a Qassam rocket strike, according to Israeli authorities. Two rockets hit the town; one in the yard of a house and the other in an open field. A U.S. official said Tuesday the Bush administration is extremely concerned about increased Israeli and Palestinian civilian casualties. The official also said the United States is considering sending special Mideast envoy Anthony Zinni back to the region. "We want to do something," said this official. "But frankly, in this environment, we're not sure Zinni should go back right now." Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is meeting with his security Cabinet to decide how to deal with the Palestinian violence, according to the prime minister's office. The upsurge in violence came as world leaders urged Israelis and Palestinians to renew peace initiatives, such as the peace plan proposed by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah. Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is visiting Washington, where he will meet with President George W. Bush on Tuesday to discuss the Mideast crisis. Mubarak called on Israeli leader Sharon to visit Egypt to discuss the Middle East crisis -- on the condition that Arafat also attend. Israeli leaders have called the Palestinian attacks against Israeli targets a terror war against Israel. Palestinians contend the Israelis are the aggressors." As the violence continues to escalate in the Middle East, Arab leaders are coming forward looking to seize the moment, attempting to push themselves into the international spotlight. As they jockey for position, it is my feeling that it is mere lip service and they have no real desire to obtain a long-term peaceful co-existence with Israel. As serious as their attempts may appear, they will fail. But one day very soon, a man will come on the scene that will bring about a peaceful solution. He will be the protector of Israel for seven years and there will again be peace in the Middle East. But it will not last! What will happen in the immediate future? Look for a continued escalation of violence between Israeli and Palestinian forces to the point of an Arab holy war. Israel will continue to raid the Gaza Strip and West Bank occupied areas. Many will die in the coming weeks. Negotiations will continue and I do believe that Israeli Prime Minister Sharon will visit Egypt in the coming weeks, but it will be to no avail. Look for someone in the EU to start getting involved in the Middle East negotiations. He may be the coming antichrist! Pastor Malone
