Pastor Malone:

Thank you for letting me ask some questions. In Revelation 12, it speaks of a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under he feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. I won't quote the entire chapter. I find this very puzzling. Who is this woman and who is the child. And why does satan want them both so badly.

I have other questions, but this one has puzzled me the most so I thought I'd start here.

Dear Lynnette:

To answer your question. The woman is the nation of Israel and the child is Jesus. Satan sought to destroy Jesus when He was on the earth but was unsuccessful. During the tribulation period satan will seek to destroy Israel but will fail. For God will protect them. This persecution will begin in the second half of the tribulation period.
