Russia
And Belarus To Unite: Seen As Devious Plan For Putin To Stay In Power
Mark
Urnov, President of Ekspertiza Foundation: "The project of the Union State
of Russia - Belarus prepares the ground toward the establishment of a new state,
thus extending the terms of office for all incumbents. This is a project
oriented for year 2008." (Editor's note: Putin's term expires then.
Since Lukashenka expects to win in 2006, he expects to drive a hard bargain
before 2008).
Both Belarus and Russia now lack in democratic expression that might prevent
their current leaders to complete their devious means of staying in power. Of
course, there is a matter of popular referendums, both in Belarus and in Russia
that might be required to approve the formation of the Union State. Lukashenka
has learned how to win all elections and referenda, and Putin may not need to
resort to electoral control, since he will most likely have the enthusiastic
support from the Russian people, anxious to reverse the downward spiral in
Russia's influence in the region and the world.

Russia and Belarus have drafted a new constitution to merge as
one. This announcement is nothing new since the two countries have been
talking about this for years. What is new is the timing of the
announcement. Many see this move as nothing more than an attempt by
President Vladimir Putin to stay in power and for the lesser Belarus leadership
to gain high profile positions in the newly formed republic.
This doesn't shock me in the least bit. It does however send chills down my spine since it wasn't more than a few months ago that I was declaring that he may indeed attempt to conjure up a way to stay in power. This is what I wrote in my May 2, 2005 update:
"Personally, I see a pattern developing that could spell trouble for Israel in the near future. What many may not know is that according to the Russian constitution President Vladimir Putin's final term ends in 2008. Somehow I just can't see him riding into the sunset come 2008, but we'll see." http://www.calvaryprophecy.com/q507.html
Don't look for President Putin to step aside in 2008. Look for him to strengthen his grip on his country and the region. In fact, Putin just formed a military alliance with Uzbekistan (former Soviet Union territory) earlier this week. Sounds like the building blocks of the old Soviet Union and the formation of the army of Ezekiel 38 are beginning to take shape.
In his address at the 17th annual anniversary of a symbolic proclamation of independence, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared that a Palestinian state is inevitable. At the same time he is claiming that Israel is trying to cause a civil war by demanding that Palestine disarm militant groups before they will discuss any notion of statehood.
Of course, it is in Israel's best interest for militants to be disarmed. If they are disarmed it will only be as a jester to the world. Secretly, they will be ready when the time comes.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice stayed an extra day to secure a deal with Israel and Palestine on the Gaza border crossings. The deal would give Palestine control of the Gaza-Egyptian border and the building of a new seaport. It also allows for a bus route to be created across Israel so Palestinians can travel between Gaza and the West Bank.
This is a major step in the creation of a Palestinian state. Certainly, anything can happen to delay statehood as we have seen in the past, but it looks to be in sight.
Personally, I believe the leaders of this world will be allowed to go so far in their attempt to bring peace to the region before they hit a brick wall. It will be at this time that the rapture will take place followed by the revealing of the man of sin (antichrist). He will then solve the peace puzzle that has alluded the world. Even though he will be revealed I'm not certain that anyone will actually know his true identity at this time. It may not be until after the abomination of desolation occurs that those on the earth find out who he is.
Under the watchful eye of the antichrist Palestine will receive statehood, the West Bank, world recognition and acceptance, and East Jerusalem as their capital. Israel will also receive world recognition and acceptance, West Jerusalem will become their capital, and they will be able to rebuild their beloved temple.
How much longer before this happens? Only the Lord knows for sure, but you can trust that it will come and He that cometh will not tarry.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not your time is running out!
