Laden Warns of Attacks, Offers Truce
Al-Jazeera aired an audiotape
purportedly from Osama bin Laden on Thursday, saying al-Qaida is making
preparations for attacks in the United States but offering a truce to rebuild
Iraq and Afghanistan.
The voice on the tape said heightened security measures in the United States are not the reason there have been no attacks there since the Sept. 11, 2001, suicide hijackings.

Threatens Nuclear Weapons Against 'Terrorist' States...
BREST, France (Reuters) - France said on Thursday it would be
ready to use nuclear weapons against any state that carried out a terrorist
attack against it, reaffirming the need for its nuclear deterrent.
Deflecting criticism of France's costly nuclear arms program, President Jacques Chirac said security came at a price and France must be able to hit back hard at a hostile state's centers of power and its "capacity to act."

Security Council, as well as Syria's own troubles over a U.N. investigation that implicated it in the assassination of Lebanon's former prime minister.

According to a poll conducted by Dr. Aharon Fein and
the Tazpit Research Institute for the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies, 63
percent of adults (polled) in Israel are willing to make concessions in
Jerusalem as part of a genuine peace agreement. But most indicated that
they didn't believe it was possible to achieve genuine peace with the
Palestinians.
This doesn't surprise me in the least. I look for Israel to turn over East Jerusalem in the very near future as part of a new Palestinian state.
Of course, we as Christians believe the Bible is clear that for a short while genuine peace will be established. But it is following this peace that all hell will break loose. Personally, I believe the Russian-Arab attack will take place shortly (six months to two years) after peace is established.
Osama bin Laden sent out a tape today which included a warning and also an opportunity for a truce directed at the citizens of the United States. He also stated that his side was winning the war and that they were getting stronger everyday. Sounds more like he's begging for us to call off the hunt. If he really believed he was winning he wouldn't be appealing to the U.S. public for a truce. What he knows is public opinion rules in America.
The U.S. government responded with their standard reply that they didn't negotiate with terrorists, and certainly they shouldn't. Of course, they feel perfectly fine with bullying Israel into negotiating with terrorists. Israel is also expected to show restraint when they come under attack by suicide bombers and missile attacks when no other country in the world would tolerate it.
Case in point...France. I have criticized France in the past over their stand against the Coalition-Iraqi war. Today they made a very bold statement to all who would dare bring terror against them. France said that they were ready to use nuclear weapons against any state that carried out a terrorist attack against them.
"President Jacques Chirac said security came at a price and France must be able to hit back hard at a hostile state's centers of power and its "capacity to act." http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060119/wl_nm/nuclear_arms_france_dc_2
I applaud their stand and feel it's the only way terrorism will be defeated. There certainly were no cries by the international community for France to show restraint.
This is a major threat by France and I look for other countries to follow suit. Unfortunately, this policy may result in the next world war described in Revelation chapter six where one-quarter of the worlds population will be destroyed.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in Syria today to let the world know that they are allies and stand united against any threat that may come. Both countries have been under increasing pressure from the international community and threatened with U.N. sanctions.
It's a very tense time especially since Iran told the world that Israel needed to be destroyed and Israel responded with threats to bomb their nuclear sites.
I do feel that Iran will eventually give into international pressure, but as it stands right now, they're back to stalling.
I will continue to keep you posted regarding this very sensitive time.
