Hamas Win Could Encourage Israel's Go-It-Alone Approach
Hamas' strong showing in PA parliamentary elections will encourage Israel's go-it-alone approach to Mideast peacemaking if Israeli officials feel they have no one to talk to on the other side. But if the elections pull the Islamic militants off the streets and into the corridors of power - shifting their focus from terror to governance - prospects for peace could be improved. Hamas hasn't renounced its charter calling for Israel's destruction.

Terrorist group Hamas has shocked the world by winning the Palestinian elections.  Many fear this will set the peace initiative back a generation.  Following the elections, a senior Hamas official came out and said that negotiating with Israel, let alone recognizing them, was not on their agenda.  Now Israel is wondering if they even have a peace partner and are considering going it alone.

It seems just when peace is in site something like this always happens.  Such an upset could happen in the upcoming Israeli elections in March as well.  Opinion polls could change rapidly and thrust a new candidate into the Israeli political spotlight.  I don't see that happening but we need to realize that the unexpected should be the expected.  What I mean by that is everything the Bible has prophesied regarding the last days is going to happen, but it might not be in your timing or played out as you expect.  Let's face it, who seen Hamas winning big!

Yes, there will still be peace between Israel and the Arab world which I believe will start with a Palestinian state. Yes, Israel will divide its land and give over East Jerusalem as the new Palestinian capital.  Yes, Israel will be allowed to move their capital from Tel Aviv to West Jerusalem. And yes, Israel will rebuild their temple on a portion of the temple mount which is occupied and controlled by Arabs.  All this will happen in due time.

Many have asked, "How does allowing terrorist groups to gain control of the future Palestinian government help bring about peace?"  Well, only God knows for sure what twists and turns are ahead to bring about His ultimate plan.  Some have speculated that by politicizing the terror groups this may shift their priorities from reigning terror down to actually governing their new state.  To be taken serious by the international community they will have to act like a real state which includes setting up a legitimate government and maintaining order.  They'll have to put away their guns (at least in plain sight), put on their suits and sit down at the negotiations table with Israel or face losing both financial and political support from outside sources.  I have no doubt they will do just that.  It may take time, but they will eventually realize that this is the only way to achieve their ultimate goal...wiping Israel off the face of the map.  They've gone as far as they can go through terror, and in time, I think they will come to that conclusion.

Will the terror end?  Not right away, but with so much at stake, pressure from the international community and even the Arab world will eventually force them to become more civilized.  They will seek legitimacy in the eyes of the world and the world will reward them as they achieve it.

But don't be fooled, they're merely a wolf in sheep's clothing.   For the sake of land and power they will postpone their plan of destruction.  In the end, they will team up with Russia, attack Israel, and suffer one of the greatest defeats in history.

I would be shocked if Russia and the Arab world were already conniving against Israel.  It's more likely that Russia will propose this attack at some future date probably after Israel has discovered a vast oil reserve.  After all, the Bible does say Russia's motive will be to take a spoil.

Frankly, I think the proposal will take the Arab world by surprise and they will seize the opportunity.  They will finally have the equalizer they've always needed to keep the West (U.S. and allies) at bay.
