'Assad
May Attack (Israel) If Pressure Escalates'
If Syrian President Bashar Assad continues to feel threatened by the United
States and the rest of the international community, he may be pushed into a
corner and decide to fire missiles at Israel, senior IDF officers from Northern
Command warned this week.
According to a report released late last year by the Jaffee Center for Strategic Studies, Syria had an estimated 45 missile launchers and had probably assembled a few Scud D rockets with a range of nearly 700 kilometers - a major threat to Israel because they can be armed with chemical warheads. Last June, Israeli military sources confirmed that Syria had test-fired three Scud missiles, despite Damascus's denials.
While Israel's border with Syria has been quiet since 1973, the military's working assumption is that Israel's next war will be on the northern front against Syria and Lebanon.

United Nations And Meretz Warming To Hamas
Russia, a member of the Quartet group that has
consistently pressured Israel to accept the so-called Road Map, stunned Israel
Thursday by recognizing Hamas and inviting the terror group to visit.

Demands Clarification Of Putin's Invitation To Hamas
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni warned against international recognition of
Hamas in a New
York Sun interview published Friday morning. The warning came in the
wake of Russian president Vladimir Putin's invitation to Hamas to come to Moscow
for talks.
According to Livni, there was a "slippery slope" effect caused by the tendency of some international actors to compromise with Hamas. Any sign of weakness in dealing with Hamas, she added, would lead to "a negative effect - not only for Israel, but also for the Palestinian people and for the international community."

Reiterates It Will Not Recognize Israel, Warns Abbas To Behave
Hamas' political chief reiterated Wednesday that the terrorist Palestinian
group would not recognize Israel, and issued a strong warning to current
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to take no steps without consulting the
terrorist group.
"I take this opportunity to tell brother Abu Mazen not to make any new
moves, changes or appointments" without consulting Hamas, political leader
Khaled Mashaal told a press conference in Cairo. "I am saying here that
Hamas will not deal with any changes and will consider them null and void."

Dakota House Approves Abortion Ban
The South Dakota House has passed a bill that would nearly ban all abortions
in the state, ushering the issue to the state Senate.
Supporters are pushing the measure in hopes of drawing a legal challenge that
will cause the US Supreme Court to reverse its 1973 decision legalizing
abortion.

Ambassador
To Germany: Israel Wants To Boost NATO Ties, May One Day Join
BERLIN - Israel wants to move closer to NATO and to decide
eventually whether to join, its envoy to Germany said on Friday in the latest
sign of a rethinking of defense relations with the West.
In an interview with Reuters, Ambassador Shimon Stein made clear the Jewish
state wished to hold open the possibility of membership, something it has not
publicly sought in the past.
"Israel has a great interest now in qualitatively upgrading its relations
with NATO," Stein said.
France
Secretly Upgrades Capacity Of Nuclear Arsenal...
France has secretly modified
its nuclear arsenal to increase the strike range and accuracy of its weapons.
The move comes weeks after President Jacques Chirac warned that states which
threatened the country could face the "ultimate warning" of a nuclear
retaliation.
A military source quoted yesterday by the Libération newspaper claimed France had tinkered with its nuclear weapons to improve their strike capability and make this threat more credible.
U.S.
Won't Maintain Long-Term M.E. Presence
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States does not envision a long-term military
presence in the Middle East.
Officials said the Defense Department and Joint Chiefs of Staff have been planning for short- to medium-term deployment in the Middle East and Gulf region. They said the deployment would not seek to duplicate the long-term U.S. military presence in such countries as Britain, Germany and Japan.

Russian president Vladimir Putin has done the
unpardonable and invited the leaders of terrorist group Hamas to visit.
This is a very shocking development that has created a mini domino affect
throughout the international community and it could get a lot worse. Now
France is backing Russia on it's move with Hamas.
On Thursday, Mr. Putin made the following statement:
"Having maintained our contacts with the organization Hamas, we intend to invite their leaders to Moscow in the near future to search for solutions. We have never considered Hamas a terrorist organization. Hamas came to power ... as a result of democratic, legitimate elections, and we must respect the choice of the Palestinian people." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=98306
I don't think anyone seen this coming. This just proves that anything can happen in these last days, but the end result will still be the same. Personally, I believe that Hamas will still have to acknowledge Israel as a nation and work with them. As they gain more acceptance with the international community they will have to bend a little. This looks in many ways to be the same path the PLO took. Eventually they did accept Israel (publicly), but secretly sought to destroy them. I don't expect Hamas or any of the Arab nations to change their spots before there is peace.
Here are a few questions I received lately that I took the time to answer. Maybe these questions have been on your mind as well.
1. Regarding whether babies will be raptured.
Personally, I don't believe babies of unsaved parents will be
raptured but you can be assured that there are no babies in hell.
Down through Biblical history God has commanded various O.T. kings and leaders
of Israel to destroy nations including women, children and babies. No
matter how cruel you may think that is God had a purpose behind it, and yes, it
was necessary. Did the slain babies of these evil nations go to heaven?
Yes, I believe they did. Will slain babies or children (who have not
reached the age of accountability) of the tribulation period go to heaven?
Again, I believe they will.
Of course, there's always the question of children and babies who will go through the tribulation period and take the mark whether it be of their own accord or through their parents. Will they go to heaven?
This is a seemingly tough question because the Bible is clear that "if any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." Revelation 14:9-11
I would like to believe that this scripture
will be confined to
adults since it does say "man". Again, I don't believe any
children or babies will be sent to hell or the lake of fire.
2. When will the world go into a true tailspin?
That's hard to predict. It will probably be sometime toward the latter
part of the first half of the tribulation period. But it could start right
off the bat too. I really don't know and I don't thing anyone does either.
But you can bet nuclear war will play a major part of the tribulation but when it will strike is
unknown.
3. Will China take Taiwan?
At some point I do believe China will take Taiwan. Where will the U.S. be?
The same place they will be when the Russian-Arab Alliance attacks Israel...not
wanting to get involved. The stakes to rescue either Taiwan or Israel will
be way to high for the U.S. to get involved. The U.S. public will make
sure of that.
I hope that answers your questions
