Israel
to control Lebanon zone until forces arrive
JERUSALEM (Reuters) -
Israel intends to control a security zone in southern Lebanon until an
international force can be deployed to take it over, Defense Minister Amir
Peretz said on...
Olmert

JERUSALEM

Rice:
Ceasefire Important, Humanitarian Issues Crucial
U.S. Secretary of State
Condoleezza called for a ceasefire during her meeting with Prime Minister Ehud
Olmert on Tuesday morning, but not at any price.
Saudi
king warns of Mideast war
Saudi King Abdullah appealed to the
world Tuesday to stop Israeli attacks on Lebanon, saying that if peace moves
fail, the Middle East could be engulfed in war.
In a statement read out on state television, the king said: "if the option of peace fails as a result of Israeli arrogance, then the only option remaining will be war, and God alone knows what the region would witness in a conflict that would spare no one."
Putin:
Lebanon crisis shows UN ineffectiveness
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday the
Lebanon crisis showed the need for increasing the effectiveness of the United
Nations.
"The current crisis around Lebanon, which has already led to serious humanitarian consequences, stresses the necessity to increase the effectiveness of the influence of the United Nations regarding international processes," Putin said at a Kremlin meeting with new ambassadors who were presenting their credentials.
Comment
Russian President Vladimir Putin said
Tuesday the crisis in Lebanon has proven to the world that the U.N. was
essentially ineffective. I couldn't agree more.
Some day very soon he will test the resolve of a very weak United Nations. It is my belief that Russian President Putin will march against Israel ignoring all protests and threats of sanctions. But as Russia and the Arab nations gather in the mountains of Israel, the world will finally turn their backs on Israel washing their hands of a problem that has long plagued them. In the end, the world will experience a shock and awe never before seen in the history of mankind.
Some major news has developed ahead of the E.U. conference on Wednesday in Rome. As you know, E.U. leaders will be debating the different elements necessary to establish a peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon. As I was reading an article on the EUbusiness website the following excerpt caught my attention.
"At their meeting in Rome on Wednesday, diplomats are to debate the outlines of what sort of force could be used to police any future peace but it is unclear who would be willing to take part and how long any force would have to stay." http://www.eubusiness.com/afp/060725143532.lne6jpcf
When I heard this it blew me away and automatically brought to my spirit seven years. Could this possibly be the seven year peace treaty that we have been waiting for? Certainly it is possible, but as we have seen in the past, anything can happen and usually does.
But there's no doubt in my mind that we are very close to the Lord's return. I just don't see the Middle East going back to the status quo of suicide bombings and homemade rocket threats. It's either peace or war and I think both the Arabs and Israelis have come to this realization.
So what's next on the prophetic calendar? Actually the same thing...the rapture of the church! I'm not looking for the antichrist or the tribulation period, and truthfully speaking, even if I was, there's no way to prepare for the horror that will surely come. For the Bible says of that day "except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened." (Matthew 24:22) Whether we want to admit it or not we're going to need the power of the Holy Spirit to sustain us on this side or the other side of the tribulation period. My only question to you is...
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not your time is running out!
