Israel has decided not to expand its war on terrorism into a larger-scale ground offensive.  They will, however, call up reservist to support the present positions in the war.  Of course, not everyone agrees that this is the right strategy for winning this war.  This is what IDF Col. (ret.) Yehoar Gal had to say earlier today in the daily Yisraeli:

"It's time to go out to war for real. For nearly two weeks, the Air Force has attacked and led most of the war... It's time to draft thousands of reserve soldiers, despite all the hang-ups and dangers, and flood all of southern Lebanon - not just the small area of Bint Jbeil and Marun a-Ras. Al Qaida & Iranian Students
Apparently, about 60 Iranian students have headed for Lebanon to fight in what they call a holy war against Israeli forces.  Al Qaida has also said that if the Israeli barrage carries on much longer they will not stand by and watch their Lebanese brothers die at the hands of Israelis.  

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday that both Gaza and Lebanon were on the verge of total destruction if something wasn't done quickly.  

Syrian forces are on high alert for a possible attack from Israel.  Many Arab leaders believe that the situation is spiraling out of control and that a full-scale Middle East war could ignite at any moment.

What I Believe Will Happen From This Day Forward
As I have said many times, I'm not a prophet and I don't know the future.  I am, however, a fair speculator of current events and how they relate to Bible prophecy.  With that said, this is what I believe will happen from this day forward.  

I believe we are in the beginning stages of a war that will end in the rapture of the church and the revealing of the man of sin.  How long it will be before that happens is anyone's guess, but I don't see this war going back to the status quo of occasional suicide bombings and rocket attacks.  Certainly, I could be wrong but this is what I believe.   

Of course, the rapture will have to take place first then the antichrist will be revealed (II Thessalonians 2:1-10), and it could happen at anytime, but I don't look for the situation in the Middle East to get better but worse.  And I don't believe it's an accident that world leaders are meeting in Rome (capital of the Old Roman Empire) to discuss a solution to this problem.  Before it's all said and done it wouldn't surprise me if Syria, Iran or both were on the verge of getting into the war.

At this time, no one leader has immerged as a savior but that day is coming...and when it does, I believe he will bring a plan that will not only bring peace to Israel, but eventually to the whole world...temporarily.  What will start out as peace will end up as war.

What many seem to forget is when Christians are taken the power of the Holy Spirit will leave with them along with His influence.  Throughout the Church Age, Christian's have played a major part of God's plan, and certainly for our sake, He has held back His wrath.  

World leaders will continue to be at a loss for a solution to this problem until the rapture occurs and then the antichrist will rise...and I don't think he will turn out to be any of the leading candidates either.  But when he does rise, look for the simultaneous rise of God's two witnesses.  They will spark a revival that will start with the conversion of 144,000 Jewish witnesses who will in turn spread the Gospel to the world.  Tens of millions will come to the Lord worldwide but it will also result in the death of the majority of them.

This is what I believe.

This just in:  Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader, Ayman al-Zawahri, has called on Muslims worldwide to rise up against Israel and unite in a holy war.
