Now, Hizballah has gone back on this deal and announced that henceforth its own forces will no longer wait for the Lebanese army to act but send its own forces into action against Israel.

Kissinger warns of possible "war of civilizations"
Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger warned that Europe and the United States must unite to head off a "war of civilizations" arising from a nuclear-armed Middle East

According to military sources, Al-Qaeda appears to be building up for an attack against Israel, but U.S. intelligence doubts this to be true.

"Western intelligence sources said the regime of President Bashar Assad has reported attacks on U.S. and other foreign targets in Syria by Islamic insurgents linked to Al Qaida. But the sources said no known group, including Al Qaida, has ever confirmed responsibility for the strikes."

"The pattern is always the same," an intelligence source said. "A group of terrorists assault a Western installation. The Syrian forces come and kill all or most of them and the regime claims to be fighting terrorism." http://www.menewsline.com/stories/2006/september/09_13_3.html

Whether it's true or not the enemies of Israel have definitely gained a false confidence that they can attack and be successful in a war against Israel.  It should be said that success doesn't always mean victory.  Hizbollah wasn't victorious against Israel but they were able to withstand their assault and inflict a little damage of their own.  That, to the terrorists, is a victory and gives courage to many other would be terrorist recruits.

According to DEBKAfile, Hizbollah has gone back on its word to allow U.N. and Lebanese troops to patrol the southern Lebanon border.  Not only will the border area be off limits to U.N. and Lebanese troops but Hizbollah says the airport will be restricted as well.

"In a second statement, Hizballah warned Berlin that German troops posted at Lebanese air ports, seaports or Lebanese-Syrian border posts would be legitimate targets for attack." http://www.debka.com/

President Bush has been getting hammered as of late due to his war on terrorism.  I do realize this is an election year and certainly his opponents have to use whatever information they can to make their chances greater to be elected or re-elected.  They can't use the economy anymore.  According to the U.S. Department of Labor unemployment is at a low 4.7% (http://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm).

I find it shocking that liberals are attempting to use the war on terrorism against President Bush.  Since 9/11 there have been zero successful terror plots carried out on U.S. soil.  No matter how you slice it that's the ultimate goal in the fight against terrorism.  Certainly, it would be nice to wipe it out altogether but the liberals won't allow that since it requires the U.S. (and allies) to take the fight abroad.  They don't understand that the cost of freedom isn't free and never has been.

Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger sure doesn't share the liberals views.  In a recent opinion article he warned that if the U.S. and E.U. are to prevent a "war of civilizations" they better join forces and head off a move toward a nuclear-armed Middle East.

"Kissinger said the international community on both sides of the Atlantic should work together to head off the growing danger posed by the development of a nuclear-armed Middle East.” http://www.israelnn.com/news.php3?id=112062

His advice seems to be right on time.  At a recent Arab League Gulf conference, member states were urged to develop nuclear technology.  You can bet this recommendation is due in large part to the success of Iran to defy the U.N.'s request to halt its nuclear program.

It wouldn't surprise me if the next great war (Revelation 6) was sparked over an attempt to stop Islamic states from pursuing nuclear weapons.  Certainly, it would be in the name of preventing the spread of these weapons reaching the terrorist.

Another issue that is rampant in Christian thinking is that global warming has something to do with the future plagues God will unleash upon the world.  That ideology couldn't be further from the truth.  When God brought the ten plagues upon the Egyptians they were specific and unmistakably from God.  It wasn't caused by decades of earthy neglect and they knew they were from God.

That will also be the case in the future.  When the tribulation period begins and God reigns terror and destruction upon the earth there will be no mistaking where it came from.  Global warming or some other man made theory will be the furthest think from their mind...they'll know it's from God and curse Him!

It looks like the E.U. has put its stamp of approval and support behind the new Palestinian unity government.

"We agreed that we have to support the new Palestinian government. It's a very important turning point for the situation," Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema told Reuters.

"(EU foreign policy chief) Javier Solana told us in the platform there will be recognition by the new government of the treaty signed by the Palestinian Authority in the past -- it means recognize Israel as a partner," D'Alema said. http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=topNews&storyid=2006-09-15T140228Z_01_L15493961_RTRUKOC_0_US-MIDEAST-EU.xml&src=rss&rpc=22

I agree!  This is a very big turning point that could end in at least recognition between Israel and the Palestinians.  I'm not yet sold on the fact that it could eventually lead to a short-term peace plan between the kingdom of the antichrist and Israel.  We'll have to wait and see.

Are you ready to meet the Lord?  If not, your time is running out!
