DEBKA
Exclusive: Moscow posts two Chechen platoons in S. Lebanon, one headed by an
ex-rebel commander, “to improve Russia’s image in the Arab world”
The Muslim commandoes of the Vostok (East) and Zapad (West) battalions of the
Russian Army’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) (picture) are being sent to
guard the 150 Russian military engineers. They arrived in Beirut this week to
restore the roads in Lebanon damaged by Israeli bombing.
DEBKAfile reports: Moscow did not consult Israel before stationing Muslim Chechen troops on its border for the first time.
Mubarak:
Regional war could break out
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak called the recent Lebanon war between
Israel and Hizbullah a "warning sign" that another regional war could
soon break out.
"The Middle East is on the verge of exploding," Mubarak said in an interview marking 33 years since the Yom Kippur War (known to Arab nations as the "October War.)
Assad
to Arab states: Let's talk
In another interview, Syrian President Bashar Assad said Friday that
Syria has begun preparations to counter an Israeli attack, and that his country
was prepared for an Israeli attack "at any moment." The president told
the Kuwaiti daily Al-Anba that Israel had given up on the peace process,
even though most of the issues of contention between the two countries were
resolved.

Unemployment

The nation's unemployment rate fell to 4.6 percent last month, down from 4.7

best performance for both measures in five years.
The monthly Labor Department report released yesterday revealed that 51,000 new jobs were reported last month, a disappointing figure, but job gains were stronger than reported earlier for the previous year and a half.
Carter:
Restore aid to Palestinians even if they don't recognize Israel
The former President said Friday that punishing the Hamas-led PA
government by withholding aid has failed, and money should be given
unconditionally
Comments
If you think things are back to
normal in the Middle East think again. Egyptian President Hosni
Mubarak said today that the war between Israel and Hezbullah was a "warning
sign" and fears that an all out regional war could break out at
anytime.
"The Middle East is on the verge of exploding," Mubarak said in an interview marking 33 years since the Yom Kippur War (known to Arab nations as the "October War.) http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1159193385797&pagename=JPost/JPArticle/Printer
Syrian President Bashar Assad said he is making full preparations in anticipation of an imminent attack by Israel. He also made it clear that if either Syria or Iran were attacked both would come to each others aid in accordance with their Joint Defense Treaty.
This is just another reason why I believe the Lord will be coming back very soon.
Here's something else of great interest. Russia has sent an elite Muslim commando unit as part of their troop contribution to the U.N. peacekeeping team to help guard the southern Lebanese border.
"Russian defense minister Sergei Ivanov said openly to Russian media that the deployment of former rebel Chechen troops in Lebanon aimed at “improving Moscow’s image in the Arab and Muslim world.”
DEBKAfile’s military sources: The Russian units are operating independently of the largely-European UN peacekeeping force. Their vehicles fly Russian and Lebanese flags. UNIFIL too was taken by surprise by the posting of Chechen troops to Lebanon. Lebanese prime minister Fouad Siniora was informed but omitted to notify Washington, Paris, Berlin, Rome or the UN." http://www.debka.com/
DEBKAfile has also learned that they placed the commando unit in southern Lebanon without first consulting Israel. Sources say that Israeli leaders were taken aback by the move.
If the Middle East wasn't hot enough, North Korean has thumbed its nose at its neighbors and the rest of the world, and said they could test fire their first nuclear bomb as early as Sunday.
In response, the U.N. Security Council came out with a meaningless warning that listed no specific consequences if they went through with the test. Barring a miracle from God, look for North Korea to go through with their test. The U.N. still hasn't figured out that sanctions mean nothing to North Korea.
Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya was found shot dead on Saturday outside her apartment. She was a well-known outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"The first thing that comes to mind is that Anna was killed for her professional activities. We don't see any other motive for this terrible crime," said Vitaly Yaroshevsky, a deputy editor of the newspaper where Politkovskaya worked. http://today.reuters.com/news/articlenews.aspx?type=topNews&storyid=2006-10-07T185535Z_01_L0763562_RTRUKOC_0_US-RUSSIA-MURDER.xml&src=rss&rpc=22
Whether this was a KBG hit or not is unknown (I tend to believe it was), but it will certainly send a strong message that there is a terrible price to pay for openly criticizing the president. This also speaks volumes regarding President Putin's intentions of stepping down as president.
The double talk in the Palestinian government continues to flow. Apparently, Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told visiting U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that he was committed to forcing the Palestinian government to recognize Israel. But later on PA TV he said “It is not required of Hamas, or of Fatah, or of the Popular Front to recognize Israel.” http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=113148
Certainly they will one day give lip service to recognition and peace, but don't look for it to last long. It will merely be a stepping stone to their ultimate plan of destroying Israel and pushing them into the sea.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
