Prepare for war - Middle East experts say war is inevitable
The coming months will present Israel with
strategic threats from three different directions, Dr. Boaz Ganor, founder of
the Institute for Counter-Terrorism told Ynetnews.
DEBKAfile
reports: Shock in Jerusalem over crude insult to Israel’s leaders from
Russia’s Vladimir Putin
In a televised phone-in Wednesday, Oct. 25, Putin offered the view that
the sex scandal surrounding President Katzav and the corruption charges against
PM Olmert were provoked by “Israel’s actions in the Lebanon.” He added:
“Many see the events as defeat. That immediately triggered attacks against the
president, the prime minister and the chief of staff.”
Putin’s words are seen as a gratuitous and unprecedented affront to Israeli leaders and a breach of normal courtesies between governments.

Dr. Boaz Ganor, founder of the Institute
for Counter-Terrorism, says that Israel faces threats from three fronts in the
coming months...Hizbullah from the north, Palestine from the south, and global
jihadists such as Al-Qaeda from every direction.
"In my view, in the coming months, global jihadists will try to launch what we call a major attack against Israel. Zawahiri (deputy leader of al-Qaeda) has announced that. I tend to believe him. The activities of al-Qaeda and global jihadist movements are surrounding Israel, from Sinai, Amman, Jordan, some involvement in Lebanon, and ongoing and growing involvement in Gaza Strip. And it's only a matter of time before they infiltrate Israel soon. So this is in my view a very negative process and I have to admit that… we are under-prepared," Ganor added. http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/Comp/ArticleLayout/CdaArticlePrintPreview/1,2506,L-3319630,00.html
Ganor goes on to say that Israel's next war is inevitable, and in fact, already upon them. "The Muslims consider the State of Israel to be an advance position of the "House of War" established on Islamic territory conquered from Islam. Israel, therefore, must first disappear. All paths to that end are legitimate," Professor Moshe Sharon said (expert on Islamic history at the Hebrew University). http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/Comp/ArticleLayout/CdaArticlePrintPreview/1,2506,L-3319630,00.html
Whether this will turn out to be the prophesied attack of Ezekiel 38 & 39 would be a guess. Certainly, Hizbullah, Palestine, and Al-Qaeda are no match for Israel despite what liberals say. Even together they would only accomplish to disrupt life in Israel but could never defeat them. It will take a massive attack with real armies led by Russia to finally get the attention of the world. By that time only the Lord will be able to save them.
Speaking of Russia, President Vladimir Putin has again stated that he will not run for president in 2008. The funny thing is, this should go without saying. The Russian Constitution is clear that due to term limits he is no longer eligible to run. This would be tantamount to U.S. President George Bush addressing the question of running again in 2008.
Many in Russia are calling for a constitutional amendment that would allow the popular president to run for another term. President Putin does say, however, that he will continue to maintain influence over the government even after he leaves office as required by the constitution. "Even having lost the powers and the levers of presidential power and not tailoring the basic law according to my personal interests, I will manage to retain the most important thing that a person involved in politics must cherish — your trust," he said during a nationally televised question-and-answer session. "And using that, you and I will be able to exert influence on the life of our country and guarantee its development." http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2006-10-25-putin_x.htm
Today, Putin showed his true colors toward Israel by crudely insulting their leaders in a televised phone interview. He indicated that the corruption charges against Israeli PM Olmert and the sex scandal surrounding President Katzav were provoked by “Israel’s actions in the Lebanon.” He also added that “many see the events as defeat. That immediately triggered attacks against the president, the prime minister and the chief of staff.” http://www.debka.com/
Putin's words were seen as an intentional slap in the face against Israel's leadership and reflect the negative fallout from the joint Kremlin appearance with Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert two weeks ago.
On top of that, it was reported that Putin became very angry at PM Olmert over what he called a blatant contradiction. Debkafile reports that "Putin became angry when the Israeli prime minister contradicted a statement by Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov to the Kuwaiti news agency on Oct. 20. Referring to the Iranian nuclear issue, Lavrov said Russia would oppose any attempts to penalize Iran through the UN Security Council or take the nuclear program as a pretext to topple the Iranian regime." http://www.debka.com/
Certainly, this type of political fallout is not all that uncommon, but it does seem to occur more frequently with Mr. Putin. All things considered (contract killings), I'm not so sure I'd want to be on his bad side.
Yesterday, I ran an article titled Eating up the earth. The article detailed the findings of the WWF conservation group which claims that the world is stripping the planet at an unprecedented rate and will need two planets' worth of natural resources every year by 2050 if trends continue in their present direction.
"On current projections humanity, will be using two planets' worth of natural resources by 2050 -- if those resources have not run out by then," the latest report said.
"People are turning resources into waste faster than nature can turn waste back into resources."
"Humanity's footprint has more than tripled between 1961 and 2003," it said. Consumption has outpaced a surge in the world's population, to 6.5 billion from 3 billion in 1960. U.N. projections show a surge to 9 billion people around 2050." http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061024/ts_nm/environment_wwf_planet_dc
It's believed that by the year 2100 world population will be approaching 12 billion or almost double the current population. That's roughly one generation away!
It's hard to say whether man is capable of successfully managing 12 billion people peacefully without attempting to eliminate the weak for the sake of conquest and survival...but I highly doubt it.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
