DEBKAfile: Bush to pursue US policy reversal on Israel in bid for Arab help on Iraq – in his Amman talks Thursday. Brent Scowcroft is new administration policy guru
To lay the groundwork, therefore, Washington will have to give the international community free rein to squeeze Israel for far-reaching concessions to the Palestinians - and not only the Palestinians, if Syria is to be engaged.

This would require a diametric reversal of George Bush’s previous warm attitude towards “our friend and ally” Israel, possibly even a reversion to the iciness directed against the Shamir government in the early 1990s by the elder Bush, whom James Baker served as secretary of state and Scowcroft as national security adviser.

EU meets with Israel, Arab nations on peace talks
Seeing a glimmer of hope in the Gaza Strip cease-fire, the EU opened two days of talks with Israel and its Arab neighbors Monday, trying to rescue the frayed Middle East peace process.

Olmert Calls on PA to Abandon Terror, Promises PA State
PM Olmert reiterated his offer, in a Monday speech, to free hundreds of jailed terrorists - after IDF Cpl. Gilad Shalit is freed - and to meet with Abu Mazen if a peaceful PA government is formed.

Olmert: Palestinians must give up the right of refugee return
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert laid out a far-reaching vision of peace on Thursday, reaffirming that Israel would be willing to withdraw from a great deal of territory in return for a true peace.

Malaysia: Muslim nations entitled to nuclear power
Muslim countries shouldn't be prevented from developing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, a Malaysian government minister said Monday at an international conference on nuclear energy.

World powers must not "misinterpret the interest of Muslim nations to generate nuclear energy as having a hidden motive," Science and Technology Minister Jamaluddin Jarjis was quoted as saying by the national news agency, Bernama.

Ahmadinejad Predicts Collapse of Israel, U.S., U.K...
Nov. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad predicted the collapse of Israel, the U.S. and Britain, attacking what he called their ``oppressive behavior.''

``The Zionist regime is on a steep downhill towards collapse and disgrace,'' Ahmandinejad told supporters at a rally of Basiji militia forces near Tehran today. In a reference to the U.S. and U.K., he said ``the collapse and crumbling of your devilish rule has started.'' The speech was carried live on state television.

Day 2 of So-Called ‘Ceasefire’: Kassam Attack on Sderot
Two Kassam rockets were fired from northern Gaza at the southern Israeli city of Sderot Monday afternoon in violation of the “ceasefire” agreement for the second time in two days.

Syria may help calm Iraq, for a price
As the US debates whether to reach out to Syria for help in calming Iraq, some close to the Syrian regime said Sunday the country would be willing to help, but only if it got something valuable in return.

Damascus certainly has been interested in political dialogue with the West and wants talks with Washington, many have said. But the regime of President Bashar Assad wants, in return, help on certain issues - such as a return of the Golan Heights, which Israel captured in the 1967 war.

DEBKAfile reports: Russia sells Iran sophisticated missile systems capable of repelling US or Israeli air or missile assaults
The first of 29 Tor-M1 systems in the $700m deal have been delivered to Iran by Moscow despite US opposition to their sale of a weapon widely regarded as the most advanced of its kind in the world. Some Iranian and Russian air defense experts say its full deployment at Iran’s nuclear installations will make them virtually invulnerable to American or Israeli attack in the foreseeable future.

Zach Plante is close with his parents - he plays baseball with them and, on weekends, helps with work in the small vineyard they keep at their northern California home.

Lately, though, his parents have begun to notice subtle changes in their son. Among other things, he's announced that he wants to grow his hair longer - and sometimes greets his father with "Yo, Dad!"

In a speech Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he was willing to give up large amounts of land in exchange for peace.  He said that they were ready to evacuate occupied lands in exchange for real peace and that now was the time to stop the violence.

"You have to stop violence and terror, to recognize our right to live in peace and security by your side and to give up the right of return. That's a right, natural and possible target," he said.

"If you show the needed determination and discipline you will find us ready. Please don't face us with another test that would cause destruction and thousands of victims and will lead to crisis and despair," he said, addressing the Palestinians. http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3333141,00.html

In the meantime, EU officials have opened up talks with Israel and their surrounding Arab neighbors in hopes of rekindling the peace process.  Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, whose country holds the EU presidency, said that the present ceasefire provided "rays of hope" of restarting the peace process and possibly taking it to the next level...a Palestinian state.

"It is important the Palestinians have a credible, representative government which no one will have any excuse not to engage with seriously," Tuomioja told reporters. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1162378493429&pagename=JPost/JPArticle/Printer

Even President Bush is giving in a little and may even give the international community some latitude in dealing with Israel.  It's believed by DEBKAfile that Washington now sees Israel in a weaken condition following their war with Hezbollah and may be stepping back on a few issues that were once considered set in stone.

"The cards in Washington are therefore stacked against Israel these days. An unfortunate combination has emerged of a president who regards the Jewish state as strategically weak and a brace of key US advisers on the administration’s new Iraqi policy who are drawn from the most anti-Israeli US administrations of the past. The Olmert government, however forthcoming, must brace itself for a period of intensive American pressure to cede ever more assets to curry favor with the Arabs."  http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=1231

All the nations, the EU, the Arabs, and Israel seem to be in place.  The US has also given ground.

The Bible says, that in the last days, Israel will sign a peace agreement (Daniel 9:27) with the leader of the Revived Roman Empire (EU) that will include many other nations.  That leader will turn out to be the antichrist and the agreement will begin day one of the tribulation period.

Will this turn out to be the negotiations that will bring peace to the Middle East and to the world?  Only the Lord knows for sure, but if not this time, the next or the time after that!

I look for that day at any time and it may be sooner than we think.  But next up, the rapture of the church.

Are you ready to meet the Lord?  If not, your time is running out!
