Olmert
says he is ready to respond to "murmur of peace" from Arab enemies
In a gesture to Syria,
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Thursday he is open to "any murmur of
peace" from Israel's
enemies.
Syria has recently signalled that it would like to reopen peace talks with Israel, which broke down seven years ago. Olmert has rejected the offers, citing Syria's support for anti-Israel militias in Lebanon and the Palestinian areas.
Olmert
Recognizes PA Flag
For the first time in the history of the State the flags of Israel and the
Palestinian Authority flew side by side at the official Prime Minister’s
Residence. And a New York newspaper noticed.
Lieberman:
We mustn't leap into talks
Minister for Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman said on Thursday that
Israel cannot compromise its demands for security to leap into a diplomatic
solution with the Palestinians.
In an interview to Israel Radio, Lieberman warned that Israel must ensure that rocket fire on the country's southern communities ceases absolutely before making any deals with the Palestinians.

EURO
NOTES CASH IN TO OVERTAKE THE DOLLAR...
The US dollar bill’s standing as the world’s favourite form of cash is being
usurped by the five-year-old euro.
The value of euro notes in circulation is this month likely to exceed the value of circulating dollar notes, according to calculations by the Financial Times. Converted at Wednesday’s exchange rates, the euro took the lead in October.
A
coming of age for the European currency...
On January 1, 2007, Europe celebrates the fifth anniversary of the launch of
euro notes and coins by welcoming a thirteenth member of the eurozone –
Slovenia, the tiny former Yugoslav republic. But the eurozone’s geographical
expansion is modest in comparison with the rapid growth in euro notes in
circulation within the region and beyond.
Home
sales rise, defy forecasts...
US home resales increased 0.6 percent in November, industry data showed,
suggesting the slumping property market is stabilizing.
The National Association of Realtors said existing-home sales amounted to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.28 million units in November, well ahead of the 6.15 million figure expected on Wall Street. This followed a 0.5 percent increase in October

Hu calls for powerful, combat-ready navy...
BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese president and commander-in-chief Hu Jintao urged the
building of a powerful navy that is prepared "at any time" for
military struggle, state media reported on Thursday.
At a meeting of delegates to a Communist Party meeting of the navy on Wednesday, Hu said China, whose military build-up has been a source of friction with the United States, was a major maritime country whose naval capability must be improved.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says that he is ready to talk peace with any of
Israel's enemies including Syria. "If our enemies genuinely want
peace, they will find in us a fair partner, determined to establish relations of
peace, friendship and reciprocity," he added. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1164882000475&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull
Another surprise was for the first time in history, the state flags of the Palestinian Authority and Israel hung side by side at the official Prime Minister’s Residence. This in the wake of an early meeting between Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas which did make progress on a few issues.
Commenting on the meeting, writer Gershon Gorenberg wrote "that it was hard to tell which man needed the other more, describing them as 'flailing in stormy waters, but which man was drowning, which was rescuing him and did the rescue stand a chance of success?'” http://www.israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=118316
My analysis of this is that all sides are (Syria, PA, Lebanon, and Iran) desperately trying to get in the good graces of the world community, and especially the West. Even Olmert gave Hamas terrorist leader PM Ismail Haniya permission to leave Gaza to collect donations for his terrorist war chest.
Speaking of war, Chinese president and commander-in-chief Hu Jintao has given the word that China needs to begin building a very powerful navy. This is another sign of the times. The Bible says that in the last days, a great country from the East will march across Asia and Europe with a great army destroying everything in its path. This is only a portion of the military build up that will come out of this region. It is also said that they will mobilize an army that will number two hundred million (Revelation 9:16).
As you know, many in the world of prophecy believe that the European Union will turn out to be the kingdom of the antichrist. This bloc of nations will be both a world political and economic power in the last days second only the United States. But in the end, even the U.S. will not be able to survive the antichrist's power and will be destroyed by his ten nation kingdom (Revelation 17 and 18).
Today, it was reported that for the first time since the inception of the Euro it had overtaken the U.S. dollar as the worlds favorite legal tender.
"The value of euro notes in circulation is this month likely to exceed the value of circulating dollar notes, according to calculations by the Financial Times. Converted at Wednesday’s exchange rates, the euro took the lead in October.
The figures highlight the remarkable growth in euro notes since their launch on January 1 2002, three years after the start of Europe’s monetary union, which in January welcomes its 13th member – Slovenia, the former Yugoslav republic.
“After the launch, we expected growth to stabilise – but it has continued over five years,” Antti Heinonen, head of the European Central Bank’s bank notes directorate, told the Financial Times." http://www.ft.com/cms/s/18338034-95ec-11db-9976-0000779e2340.html
I don't believe that the U.S. is in decline and they will continue to dominant the world market, but it is a sign that the nations of the world are moving away from the dollar.
At the same time, Iran is in the process of creating an oil brouse that will only trade in euro's, thus eliminating the need for such nations as Japan and China to hold vast reserves of U.S. dollars. Presently, most oil is purchased using the dollar. When fully implemented, it is believed that this alternative could place the U.S. economy in crisis.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
