Israeli, Syrian representatives reach a secret understanding; maybe blueprint for future

Is Russia an ally of Iran? The fact that the world is even asking this question makes me want to answer with an emphatic yes! If they're not at this time the Bible is clear that one day they will be (Ezekiel 38 & 39). It will be interesting to see how they react once the US, Israel or both begin their assault on Iran's nuclear facilities.

I have to admit I was wrong. I did not see the US spearheading any operation against Iran, but as we speak, all signs indicate that the US may indeed attack Iran's facilities between now and April of 2007. Most sources I have read believe it is inevitable. One aircraft carrier is already in the Persian Gulf with a second one on the way, F-16s have reported in at a Turkish airbase for the first time in three years, and the US has deployed more than 600 patriot missiles throughout of Middle East. But as I've said many times, this could be nothing more than a lot of Iranian hot-air where the US attacks and destroys their nuclear capabilities with little or no retaliation.

I think most people believe that an Iranian retaliation is a given. I don't necessarily believe that...especially after they have been disarmed. But there will be a day coming when they will play a major role in a major battle. The question is, are we on the cusp of seeing this battle unfold before our eyes? Which leads back to the beginning question...is Russia an ally of Iran? That would make all the difference in the world on how the US responds if at all.

More shocking news! Turkish intelligence suggests that by the year 2015 several Mideast countries will cease to exist. "In this period that we are currently in, we will see the process by which many nations will lose the marathon of history," National Intelligence Organization Undersecretary Emre Taner said. http://www.menewsline.com/stories/2007/january/01_17_1.html

Although Israel was not specifically named, I have a hard time believing that they're not on the list.

More big news! Apparently, Israel and Syria have been working out a peace plan (blue print) behind closed doors. Of course, both sides deny this is the case, and outwardly even appear to be gearing up for war in the very near future.

Here are the components of said agreement:

1. An agreement of principles will be signed between the two countries, and following the fulfillment of all commitments, a peace agreement will be signed.

2. As part of the agreement on principles, Israel will withdraw from the Golan Heights to the lines of 4 June, 1967. The timetable for the withdrawal remained open: Syria demanded the pullout be carried out over a five-year period, while Israel asked for the withdrawal to be spread out over 15 years.

3. At the buffer zone, along Lake Kinneret, a park will be set up for joint use by Israelis and Syrians. The park will cover a significant portion of the Golan Heights. Israelis will be free to access the park and their presence will not be dependent on Syrian approval.

4. Israel will retain control over the use of the waters of the Jordan River and Lake Kinneret.

5. The border area will be demilitarized along a 1:4 ratio (in terms of territory) in Israel's favor.

6. According to the terms, Syria will also agree to end its support for Hezbollah and Hamas and will distance itself from Iran. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/813817.html

Sources say that nothing has been put down on paper and that it is considered merely a verbal understanding with no legal standing. Whether it will carry over and become a legal peace agreement only time will tell.
