Saudi Foreign Affairs Minister Saud al-Faisal has come out slamming Israel for not accepting the Saudi peace plan without preconditions or changes.  He believes this is just an excuse and that Israel doesn't really want peace.

''We have no desire to negotiate over this,'' said al-Faisal in a joint press conference with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Javier Solana in Riyadh.

''They accept the resolution and then they talk about putting preconditions that should be accepted before negotiations or discussions or even the acceptance of the proposal. This is not a good way to do business.''  http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3376187,00.html

Here is an outline of the plan that will be featured at the Arab League summit later this month:

-- A full withdrawal from every inch of Judea and Samaria;

-- The surrender of the eastern half of Jerusalem, including the Old City, Temple Mount and Western Wall;

-- A full withdrawal from every inch of the Golan Heights;

-- Conferring citizenship on millions of foreign-born Arabs who, with the full backing of the international community, claim to be Palestinian refugees.

In return, the Arab states promise to make peace with what would, effectively, no longer be the Jewish state.

I have to agree with Israel's concern over millions of Palestinian refugees having the right to return to their homes within the Jewish state.  That would be suicide for Israel and would most assuredly invite the enemy to come back within the walls of Israel.  The day Israel agrees to this plan as written look for the entire Arab world to come crashing down on them soon after.

Many believe the US and the EU are onboard with most of the elements of the Saudi plan and will soon try to force the plan on Israel.  If that be the case, they'd better do it quick because the present Israeli leadership is running out of time.  Seems there are calls for early elections in the air and many don't believe Prime Minister Olmert will make it to the end of the year.  In fact, his own party is calling for him to resign before next month's Winograd Commission's interim report.  Apparently, it doesn't have much good to say about how Olmert has run the country during his short tenure.  By resigning, he will be allowed to choose someone from within his own party to be his successor and delay any calls for early elections.

If Olmert decides not to resign but face challengers in an election most polls predict he would lose handedly...and his likely opponent would be Binyamin Netanyahu who has no desire to agree to any suicidal peace initiative such as the Saudi plan.  I have to believe his election would set the Middle East peace process back ten years.

I look for Prime Minister Olmert to resign shortly and name Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Livni to be his successor to avoid early elections.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Avigdor Lieberman says that there are some in Europe who would rather see Israel removed as a nation than impose tough sanctions against their Iranian trading partner.

"We have seen this phenomenon once before, in the run-up to World War Two. It is the same way they sacrificed Czechoslovakia (to German invasion and annexation) and the same way they ignored the Jews' predicament even though it was clear to all the heads of states what was happening to the Jews."

"Iran doesn't hide its intentions and Europe doesn't understand that Israel is the front line, the buffer, against extremist Islamic terrorism," Lieberman told Israel Radio. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSL1444186220070314

Israel will be lucky to get more than a hand slap imposed on Iran if it were up to the rest of the world.  Russia has agreed to delay the finishing of Iran's first nuclear reactor but the day will come when all delays will come to an end.  In the meantime, don't look for sanctions to have much of an effect on Iran's progress toward becoming a nuclear power.

Seems everyone is trying to force Israel into agreeing to a land swap for peace that would be detrimental to their future existence.  The European Union's Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana in a meeting with Syrian officials in Damascus today said that Israel should give back the Golan Heights as part of the peace process with Syria.  I'm sure that made many in the UN stand up and applaud.

But not everyone was happy about Mr. Solana's visit to Syria or his peace gesture.  Israeli MK Nissan Slomiansky had this to say about his visit.  "Solana should know that if he wants to continue to be a neutral mediator between states in conflict with each other, it is inappropriate that he should choose to travel to a known terror-supporting country and make one-sided statements. If he continues to present a one-sided view the European Union will become irrelevant," Sloniamsky said. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost/JPArticle/ShowFull&cid=1173879083731

Here's a surprise...Hamas-controlled television has been televising statements made by the group’s late leader Ahmad Yassin on a daily basis (sometimes several times a day) that Israel's disengagement from the Gaza Strip was key to their eventual demise.

“The frequency that this has been playing on Hamas TV – for example, seven times on March 12th alone - indicates how important this political message is to Hamas,” PMW Director Itamar Marcus says. “Fatah and Hamas have been competing for years in taking credit for the terror that they say forced the government of Ariel Sharon to decide to leave Israeli towns in the Gaza Strip.” http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/121852

This strategy is not new and is central to the Saudi plan or any other plan devised by the Arab world or their allies.  The world refuses to see the truth and is willing to look the other way as Israel is forced to accept policies detrimental to their existence.

Certainly, we are quickly heading for a time when Israel will be standing alone against insurmountable odds.

Are you ready to meet the Lord?  If not, your time is running out!
