A top Russian general has said that if the US strikes Iranian positions it will be a huge mistake.  

"It is possible to damage Iran's military and industrial potential, but it is impossible to win," Russian news agencies quoted General Yuri Baluyevsky, head of the Russian general staff, as saying.

"The United States has a contingent in the region capable of launching a strike on Iranian territory."

I don't think there's any question that the US has the capabilities of destroying or severely setting back the Iranian nuclear program for years to come.  But I have to agree with Russian General Baluyevsky this could send monstrous shockwaves throughout the Middle East and possibly the entire Islamic world.  There's no question this could enrage a holy war that I'm not sure America or the free world is willing to fight.

But whether we like it or not that day is coming and it wouldn't surprise me if the war described in Revelation chapter 6 is the result of a great Islamic holy war.  The Bible says that one quarter of the world's population will be killed but somehow Israel will come out intact on the other side a survivor.  It's very possible that the war described in Ezekiel 38 and 39 will play a major role in igniting this holy war.  

It's no secret that Iran has been of late working toward mending strained relations with Saudi Arabia and possibly Egypt.  Debkafile (online newspaper) sources say that a mutual defense pact between the three countries has been discussed and is being considered for evaluation.

Many analysts fear that Saudi Arabia has decided to distance itself from the West and their policies in favor of leaning toward a closer relationship with the likes of Iran, China and Russia.  Egypt, Libya and other Arab nations can't be too far behind.  This falls right in line with Bible prophecy and the coalition predicted to come against Israel in the last days.

There's no question that attacking Iran will likely have disastrous consequences but they must come.  I say disastrous consequences because it will undoubtedly bring waves of terror to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and many US sites around the world.  Eventually, it will turn nuclear if not immediately.

Yes, the Islamic world will be put down but not before hundreds of millions of people die and many more are injured.

Are we on the precipice of one of the greatest disasters the world has ever known?
