If you haven't heard, Russia has unveiled a new intercontinental ballistic missile that features dual warheads that can penetrate any existing missile defense system.

"As of today, Russia has new tactical and strategic complexes that are capable of overcoming any existing or future missile defense systems," Ivanov said, according to the ITAR-Tass news agency.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/russia/article/0,,2091130,00.html

These missiles can be armed with up to ten independent warheads which make it very difficult, if not impossible, to destroy once deployed.

Although, officials say Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is looking into possible peace negotiations with Syria he is also readying the Israeli people for a possible soon all out war with Hezbollah and Syria.

In the coming weeks the Home Front Command intends to begin a campaign to inform the Israeli public on what they need to do in the event of an attack.  

"The campaign [is] not connected to a specific event or threat but [is] meant to brace the public for war in general, senior IDF officers said."

"Our job is to prepare for an all-out war," Col. Hilik Sofer, head of the Home Front Command Population Division, told The Jerusalem Post Wednesday. As you know, most military analysts have been calling for a war between Israel and another Middle East country by summer of 2007.  The possible combatants are believed to be Syria, Hezbollah, the Palestinian Authority, Iran or a combination of the aforementioned.

It's not a matter of if this war is connected to Bible prophecy...it is!  In time, I believe we will see how this will bring together Russia, Iran, Libya, Turkey, Jordan, and a host of other nations that will culminate in the battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38 & 39).

Certainly, this could just be another continuation of last summer's war but it will lead to that fateful day when God will bring about a miracle in the face of certain defeat.  

The Islamic world has been strengthened over what appears to be a weak moment in Israel's leadership.  Is now the opportunity for them to finally defeat Israel and come upon them as a great storm?

With the proposed US departure from the Middle East by 2009 Israel may be left to deal with Iran's nuclear program as well.

As we draw nearer to that fateful day, I look for many unanswered questions to be rectified by summers end.  

Does this mean the rapture could be around the corner?  That's always a possibility and should be ever present in a Christians mind.
