either Iran lives up to its international obligations and relinquishes its nuclear ambitions--or it will be bombed into compliance

Tony Blair has been busy over the last few months making preparations for his bid to bring peace to the Middle East. Although his role has been confined to economic and security matters, I do see his power broadening as time goes on.

A recent BBC article made a revealing quote that I find ironic. In speaking about Mr. Blair's Middle East plan they said, "He has wisely, kept his plans to himself, because when he unveils his strategy he is going to need to get it right." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6979352.stm

At this time, Mr. Blair seems to be doing his work in the background. It will be interesting to hear his future plan and see where this will lead.

It's becoming more apparent to the global community that if peace in the Middle East is to be achieved Hamas will have to be included. But for that to happen both the Quartet and Israel will have to change their position toward Hamas. At this time, the Quartet maintains that Hamas must recognize Israel, adhere to established agreements made between Israel and the Palestinians, and reject violence. But as of late, some are suggesting that the Quartet drop the condition that Hamas must recognize Israel.

Look for this condition to be dropped or at least delayed into future negotiations so that peace can be established. Whether it will be accomplished by the November Middle East peace summit is questionable, but frankly, I do feel a sense of possibility for the very near future.

The Pentagon has drawn up a three day contingency plan that is not only targeting the 1200+ nuclear facilities but the Iranian military as a whole. Alexis Debat, director of terrorism and national security at the Nixon Center, said last week that US military planners were not preparing for “pinprick strikes” against Iran’s nuclear facilities. “They’re about taking out the entire Iranian military,” he said.

“Whether you go for pinprick strikes or all-out military action, the reaction from the Iranians will be the same.” It was, he added, a “very legitimate strategic calculus”. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article2369001.ece

US President Bush is committed to the diplomatic process but says he will not wait forever. He believes that Iran is already fighting against the US in a proxy war in Iraq and time is running out to prevent them from achieving nuclear status. At the same time, Israel has made it clear that if the US does not take action soon they will.

If you haven't heard, back in June 2007, China successfully hacked into the Pentagon computer system shutting it down for an entire week. Needless to say, that has alarmed many of the head brass in the nation's capital.

This is scary thought to think that the US Defense systems could be immobilized for this length of time.

If you have read my Chronological Events Of The Tribulation Period section you know I believe the US will turn out to be Mystery Babylon (Revelation 14, 17 & 18). Revelation 18:19 says that her destruction will be so devastating and swift that "in one hour is she [Mystery Babylon] made desolate."

Could this be how the Lord brings final judgment and destruction upon Mystery Babylon?
