April 15, 2011: Where We Could Be In Bible Prophecy & Where The Future Could Lead!
Hello, I have a question,
How will this new peace plan due by September, be a part somehow, of the final 7 year peace plan. With all the unrest in the middle east and Iran's threats as well as the other nations, you mentioned this would not be the 7 year plan. How long could it be before this 7 year plan is revealed and do you feel the war of Gog and Magog will be years away, or possibly soon considering everything that is now happening at a "record pace" as they say, in prophecy?;
I am very interested or if you could explain more in your commentaries.
My Answer
There is no guarantee that there will be a
peace plan by September 2011. I just read a Jerusalem post article that stated
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would be presenting a major speech to
the U.S. Congress very shortly. He will be attempting to circumvent the almost
certain UN recognition of a Palestinian state later this year. It is
highly unlikely that his plan will convince Palestinian officials not to seek a
unilateral declaration from the UN. The world has convinced the PA leadership
that they will gain more unilaterally than through negotiations with
Israel. Even Netanyahu is doubtful he will be able to sway the
Palestinians back to the table.
As I mentioned in my most recent commentary, this September 2011 deadline may or may not produce the coming seven-year peace treaty described in Daniel 9:27. Israel may resist the UN mandate for them to evacuate all West Bank land and the US may stand behind them. The UN may do an about face and decide that direct negotiations between Israel and Palestine is the best option. Many things could happen that could change the direction of what we believe could be the immediate future.
But let's consider the possibility that we could be witnessing a Middle East peace accord in the making. There are a few things that I believe need to be attached to this agreement if it is to be the peace the Antichrist will confirm. One, I believe that it must be a stated seven-year peace accord. Meaning, the peace accord will be worked out over time with a deadline attached. It is likely the details of the peace accord will be spread out over seven years with East Jerusalem being turned over in the final stages of the agreement.
Of course, it is possible that this peace accord timeframe will only be known to those who study the Scriptures. This may only be a message from God to Christians or those who read his Word. There are many instances throughout the Bible where God allowed His followers, for example, to know how long they would be in captivity, how long the tribulation period would last, the length of time Jesus would rule and reign on Earth, etc. For this reason, it's equally possible the length of the peace accord may not be stated in the agreement.
Two, I feel there must be a predominant world leader who must step forward and confirm this covenant. I believe this is very important in the completion of the peace process. At this point and time, in my estimation, no one has taken a leadership role in moving this peace accord forward. However, there is one very good reason why this has not happened yet. The rapture of the church has not taken place. Until the rapture takes place, the protecting power of the Holy Spirit will still be present on the Earth. The Bible is clear that the Holy Spirit is at this time preventing the appearance of the Antichrist (II Thessalonians 2:3-10), but that will all end when the rapture takes place. When this event does take place, all Spirit indwelt Christians will be taken from this world along with the Holy Spirit. Satan will then have free reign to choose his Antichrist and false prophet. Of course, this freedom will be governed by the will of God.
This man chosen by Satan to be his Antichrist will suddenly become a preeminent world leader. However average he may have been previously, Satan will energize him to unprecedented stardom and fame. Through his newfound boldness, I believe he will settle the Middle East unrest, through force if necessary, and bring peace to Israel along with much of the Islamic world. This first step toward peace could be the creation of a Palestinian state and the guaranteed security of Israel. I do not believe, at this time, the Temple will be rebuilt.
This will be an exciting time for the international community, but will be quickly squashed by an imminent attack by Russia and their Islamic alliance (Ezekiel 38 & 39). I would not be shocked if the nations listed in Psalm 83 were included in this war as well.
But what events will lead into the peace agreement? My speculation is, come September 2011, Israel will bow to international demands that they give up all West Bank lands along pre-1967 borders with a small percentage of land swaps. In exchange, the West could guarantee their security by placing an international military presence in the West Bank to prevent weapons from entering the territory. This is where the seven years may come into play. The agreement may be that the international presence be phased out over a seven-year period as the Palestinians gain more security control over their land.
But shortly into the peace process, Russia will march against Israel (Ezekiel 38:1-16) along with a great and mighty Islamic army. This international force may be sufficient to prevent an Hamas takeover or the smuggling of weapons into the territory, but it will be no match for the military might of the Russian-Islamic Alliance.
Due to the loss of all West Bank territory, Israel will find themselves at a huge strategic military disadvantage. However, just before this attack commences, God will miraculously destroyed this seemingly insurmountable army (Ezekiel 38). The Bible says it will be for the purpose of revealing to the world who the true God is and to bring glory to Himself (Ezekiel 38:23). I believe this defeat will mark the beginning of the end of Islam, and by the midway point of the tribulation period, this religion will no longer exist (Revelation 13:8).
In closing, this commentary should be taken as pure speculation. Certainly, I do not know the future nor what God's immediate plans are. However, the Bible is clear that we as Christians are not to be in darkness as regarding the events of the end times (I Thessalonians 5:4-5). The Bible depicts the strength and intensity of end times signs as birth pangs of a woman in childbirth (Matthew 24:3-8). With these two passages as our guide, I have to believe that God has given us the ability and information (Bible) to know when the rapture is near.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
