Palestinian UN Recognition Vote Sept. 21st: What Could Happen Following Vote In Prophecy
The Palestinians on Thursday officially launched their campaign to join the United Nations as a full member state, saying they would stage a series of peaceful events in the run-up to the annual gathering of the U.N. General Assembly later this month.
Some 100 Palestinian officials and activists gathered at the U.N. offices in Ramallah for a short ceremony, where they announced their plans in a letter addressed to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
The letter urges Ban to add his "moral voice in support of the Palestinian people."

Later, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) denied that it had submitted an official request to the United Nations to recognize Palestine as a member of the world body, explaining that the campaign launched in Ramallah earlier in the day was the work solely of grassroots activists.
The letter sent to the UN Secretary Generals office in Ramallah declaring the launch of a campaign to gain statehood recognition was not an official Palestinian Authority document, a spokesman for the PLO said Thursday, but rather a grassroots attempt to garner support ahead of the UN vote in later September.
A date for the submission had yet to be set, the official told the German Press Agency dpa.
When the official letter is submitted, around 140 countries are likely to support a Palestinian bid for statehood recognition at the United Nations General Assembly later this month.
US officials are urging President Obama to use his veto power to prevent the UN recognition of a Palestinian state. President Barack Obama should say clearly and publicly the United States will use its veto on the U.N. Security Council to block any Palestinian bid to gain U.N. membership, a senior Republican lawmaker said on Wednesday.
Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a conservative who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said she felt that the Obama administration's diplomatic "full court press" was coming too late.

At the same time, Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas is deliberately exploiting a speech by US President Barack Obama to drum up support for the Palestinians' unilateral statehood bid.
As part of a worldwide media campaign ahead of the September 21 motion for Palestinian statehood, Abbas' regime has produced a radio spot that includes Obama saying the following to the UN General Assembly in 2010:
"When we come back here next year, we can have an agreement that can lead to a new member of the United Nations, an independent, sovereign state of Palestine living in peace with Israel."

As we draw closer to the September 21st motion, Israel is becoming
increasingly isolated from the international community. Many around the world
are anticipating a yes vote for UN recognition of a Palestinian state, and I
believe will back it up through apartheid style sanctions against Israel. It's
bad right now, but it's going to get a lot worse in the coming weeks. Their hope
is that US President Barack Obama will continue to uphold the will of the
American people to stand by Israel and veto this motion.
This is what I see for the future following September 21st.
The UN member nations will vote to recognize the PA as a Palestinian state. In a last-minute change in policy, the US will abstain from the vote, sending shock waves throughout Israel and around the world. This could set the stage for an eventual regional holy war by Israel's immediate neighbors fueled by the sympathy of the international community. If this were to happen, Israel would easily crush any foreign invaders. However, the international community, lead by the EU and backed by the US, would step in as cries of war crimes are shouted from every capital in the world. After all, the world has spoken regarding Palestine's legitimacy, and Israel must conform or face sanctions and/or a possible Libya style takeover of the West Bank territory.
Here's where Scripture may come into play. Daniel 9:27 says that the future
Antichrist will rise up and confirm a covenant with Israel and many (meaning
many nations). I believe the US, wishing to turn the region over to the EU, will
allow the EU to lead a campaign that will confirm peace in the region that will
include all the nations involved in the Arab Spring revolts including Syria. I
believe this campaign will be backed up by the threat of military force. This
threat will be so series, both Syria and Israel will be forced to comply with
international wishes, and a peace accord for the region will be confirmed. It is
not inconceivable that even Iran could see the seriousness of the EU lead
campaign and decide it is in their best interest to cooperate ending their quest
for nuclear weapons...temporarily.
Certainly, this is speculation on my part, but one day, a temporary Middle East
peace will come. Are we on the cusp of this ancient Bible prophecy playing
out? Is the Antichrist about to rise and be revealed? Is the next
major prophetic event, the rapture of the church, about to take the world by
surprise?
Will it take you by surprise? If you don't know the Lord, it will, leaving you behind to go through the most horrific time period the world has ever none or ever will know. Trust me, you don't want to go through this seven-year hell. But as terrible as this time will be, it's nothing compared to a living, burning, and eternal hell.
Friend, you could die today, then where would you be? If you don't know the Lord, today is the day of salvation. Don't put this off another day! Ask the Lord to save you, repent of your sins, confess Him as Lord, and commit your life to serving Him from this day forward. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Jesus died for you, He only asks that you confess, repent, and live for Him.
