Netanyahu: I have reason to believe talks will start in coming weeks without preconditions
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he hopes to resume peace negotiations with the Palestinians in the coming weeks.
"I have been saying for a long time that the international community has matured into understanding that Israel wants and is ready to resume the peace process. And from the moment this recognition has matured among the key elements in the international community, the practical feasibility of this move is also maturing."
"There is a saying that it takes two to tango," Netanyahu added. "In the Middle East, it sometimes takes three, at least at the beginning. Then we can continue to a dance for couples.
"I hope there if is willingness on the other side, not only to build the Palestinian economy and the Palestinian institutions, but also to start building peace itself, we will see a resumption of the process in the coming weeks." Ynetnews.com
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned Syrian President Bashar Assad on Thursday that in an event of war with Israel, "not only will you lose the war, you and your family will no longer be in power."
The leaders in Syria care only about their power, Lieberman claimed at an event at Bar-Ilan University, and therefore it is important that Damascus understands a war with Israel will drive Bashar Assad and the Assad family out of power.
"I tell Assad and [Syrian Foreign Minister Walid] al-Moallem clearly - what was said yesterday marked a dramatic change of game, a direct threat on the State of Israel. I think that a line was crossed, and this cannot be tolerated," the foreign minister said. Jpost.com
Senior Palestinian officials revealed this week that the Palestinian Authority has resumed administrative activity in Jerusalem with the quiet approval of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In an interview with WorldNetDaily, PA spokesman Dmitri Ziliani said the Palestinian government had opened several offices in Jerusalem in recent months and had resumed regular meetings there. He reiterated that the Palestinians will not make peace with Israel unless they gain full control over the entire eastern half of the city.
According to the report, the government of US President Barack Obama is helping the Palestinians reestablish their foothold in Jerusalem by financing Palestinian infrastructure projects there. Israel Today
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reported that he has received positive information that leads him to believe that the resumption of peace talks with the Palestinians may be only weeks away.
Also, there are rumors surfacing that the Palestinians are being permitted by the Israeli government to hold governmental meetings in East Jerusalem. Israel has issued a statement denying such a move, but I have a strong suspicion that it is true. The US is believed to be financing the Palestinian infrastructure projects. If peace talks are resumed in a few weeks we may be surprised by the magnitude of the progress that has been made from behind the scenes.
Recently, Syria and Israel have exchanged war rhetoric each claiming victory if war were to breakout between them.

Yesterday, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said, if there was war with Israel, it would reach Israeli cities and that they (Israel) would lose.
Israel says they are committed to peace with Syria but without pre-conditions. Syria has said they will not even approach peace talks without the return of the Golan Heights. Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the return of the Golan Heights was out of the question, and if Syria wants peace, it will be without any pre-conditions.
Many prophecy scholars believe that a war with Israel is coming and Damascus, Syria's capital, will be destroyed in the process never to be inhabited again (Isaiah 17:1-3). I believe, at the very least, they will be among the hoards of Islam that will come down upon Israel at the onset of the battle of Gog & Magog (Ezekiel 38 & 39). It is following this moment that God will deliver Israel and I believe they will rebuild their Temple.
