Netanyahu: Would consider interim agreement in West Bank that would include establishment of a Palestinian state within temporary borders
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is once again reaching across the negotiation table with confidence building gestures in an effort to renew indirect talks.
He has also stated that he is willing to approach an interim agreement that would create a Palestinian state with temporary borders. This isn't the first time this has been brought to the table, but it does line up with a time limit placed on the peace agreement found in Daniel 9:27.
Certainly, this passage has always been a puzzle as to why any nation would agree to peace for such a limited amount of time as seven-years. However, that is exactly what will happen. I assume that portions of the West Bank would be turned over to the Palestinian state in time with final borders and Jerusalem finalized at the end of the timeline.
It is expected that the Palestinians will reject any proposal that includes temporary borders as they have in the past. Although, I wouldn't rule it out based on based on Daniel 9:27 alone. They may come to their senses and see this as an opportunity to finally create a Palestinian state. Once Israel agrees to temporarily create borders final status will not be far behind and there will be no turning back.
One other scenario could play into this agreement. If Israel and the Palestinians do agree to go forward with creating a temporary Palestinian state this could play into the Battle of Gog and Magog (Ezekiel 38 & 39). Once a temporary state is created Israel and the Palestinians will begin to live side by side in peace. Although, this peace will not last long. I believe within a year's time Russia and their Islamic partners will use Palestine to stage an all out attack on Israel. Of course, the Bible is clear that this invading army will be miraculously destroyed. Upon defeating this great army, I believe Israel could reclaim the temporary Palestinian state, all of Jerusalem, and the temple mount. Nevertheless, at this point, most experts expect the Palestinians to reject the proposal immediately.
European Union financial experts believe the euro is in big trouble and may not survive the global recession if something isn't done soon. Monstrous budget deficits and unemployment in Greece, Ireland and several other member countries have set the stage for painful cuts to be made that could last well into the foreseeable future.
The Bible says, when the Antichrist comes on the scene, he will rise up through a ten nation European consortium. At present, the European Union has 27 member nations. Many Bible believing prophecy experts believe that the European Union will be reduced at some point to ten nations. Could it be that this present financial crisis could cause a core of ten nations to break away from the union to create a new more stable European community? I certainly would not rule that possibility out.
