PA negotiator threatening one-state solution if no progress by end of year; US conducting secret meetings with Hamas
A report published by Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper claims that the US is having secret talks with Hamas in an undisclosed Arab country.
A senior Hamas figure told the newspaper that the Americans fear discussing the talks publicly would "rouse the Jewish lobby and other pressure groups in the US and cause them to pressure the administration to suspend all talks with Hamas (ynetnews.com)."
This is no secret. These meetings with Hamas have been rumored to be going on for years. It is unlikely peace will ever come to the Middle East without Hamas' inclusion. Most of the known world has come to that reality. Soon, Israel will have to accept as well or face a one-state solution.
Speaking of a one-state solution, Palestinian Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat, is once again threatening Israel with a one state solution.
"This government of Israel has a choice: settlements or peace," he said. "They can't have both."
He explained that the Palestinian Authority was founded to establish the institutions for a Palestinian state, not to keep Israel as a source of authority forever. "If Israel insists on maintaining control," he said, "the Palestinian Authority cannot stand - it's irrelevant," and he indicated it might be dissolved (Haaretz.com).
If the Palestinian Authority were to be dissolved, the world would move to plan B...forming one big Israeli-Palestinian nation. That would be Israel's worst nightmare, due to the fact, that the global community would pressure them into giving all Palestinians equal rights as Israeli citizens. We all know where that would lead, so you can bet Israel wants no part of that plan.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogen has been sent a strong message by the US that they need to show a commitment to their NATO partnership. This has caused a US snub at the G20 summit in Canada and could call Turkey to the carpet with NATO.
Don't expect this rift between Turkey and Israel to get any better. Certainly, in public they may cool the rhetoric, but you can bet, behind closed doors, they are enemies. In the end, the Bible says that Turkey will betray their NATO partners and side with Russia and its Islamic partnership to attack Israel (Ezekiel 38 & 39).
