Netanyahu: We can surprise the doubters to reach historic peace; Doubters say no but Bible prophecy says it will come

Israel and the Palestinians have a chance to surprise the world and strike a peace deal to end decades of conflict, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday.

"We can surprise all the doubters," Netanyahu told ministers at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem (Haaretz.com).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin is correct when he stated that he and Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas can surprise the world and strike a peace deal.  The Bible predicted 2500 years ago that such a peace accord would be achieved (Daniel 9:27) during the last days after Israel was reborn as a nation (Ezekiel 37:10-14; Amos 9:14-15; Isaiah 43:5-6; Isaiah 66:7-8).

At the time of this prophecy, Israel was living in exile in Babylon.  They would later be granted permission to return to their land around 538 BC.  But in 135 AD., the Romans, under Hadrian, would completely destroy Jerusalem, literally plowing the city and forbidding any Jews from living in Jerusalem.  They would spend almost 2000 years in obscurity before God would miraculously re-gather the Jews from all over the globe as the reborn nation of Israel in1948.  Against all odds, they have survived despite being outnumbered and surrounded by all their enemies.

It is during this generation for which Israel has sprung forth that the Bible declares peace will come. Yes, I do believe Israel and Palestine will one day shock the world. Frankly, most of the international community believes neither Abbas nor Netanyahu has the power or the desire to bring peace to the Middle East...and for good reason. For one, it would be political suicide for both leaders. Two, almost no Moslem faction outside of Abbas' own Fatah movement wants direct talks.

If I were to look at circumstances past and present I would have to believe war will come long before peace is established.  Certainly, the threat of war may be the catalyst that finally brings peace, but this peace will not come until after the rapture of the church and the rise of the Antichrist.

Israel has said plainly that they are preparing for war even in the face of direct peace talks.  Is this just another failed attempt at what most believe is an impossible task?  It will be until the Lord opens the door for peace to come.

Are you ready to meet the Lord?  If not, your time is running out!
