Is The Middle East About To Explode Into War? What Will Happen In The 2nd Half Of 2012!
For years, I and other prophecy watchers have been calling for a nuclear Iran. With every passing news report claiming Iran was only months away from acquiring the bomb came the constant threat from Israel of a pre-emptive strike.
I can remember my first report of Israel mulling over the possibility of attacking Iran's nuclear facilities. If you guessed it was only a few years ago you would be wrong. This threat of an attack has been going on since 2003. This is what I said about a possible Israeli attack then:
It looks like Iran has no intention of backing down despite world pressure. Donít look for military action to be taken against Iran, thatís too risky for all involved. Besides, they are predicted to be a part of the future attack on Israel (Ezekiel 38 & 39). (Calvary Prophecy Report)
Now don't get me wrong, Israel needs to attack and destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. Why they didn't do so back in 2003 would be mere speculation on my part, but I assume the US is the hindering factor in this case and will continue to be so on into the future.
Most military analyst do not see a US or Israeli attack forthcoming anytime into the foreseeable future. Does that mean both the US and Israel have conceded Iran is destined to become a nuclear power? Not necessarily. It is my belief, for now, both countries have taken the military option off the table and will rely on sanctions and cyber warfare to accomplish their end game.
When I say sanctions, I don't just mean oil and commodities. They'll also include materials that are imperative to creating a nuclear weapon. At the same time, Israel and the US will continue their covert and cyber warfare (Stuxnet, Flame, etc.) operations hoping it will slow Iran's progress until economic sanctions bring their economy to its knees. Of course, Iran has ways of getting the nuclear material they need through other channels (not every country will abide with the sanctions), but for the most part, the sanctions are having an impact.
Frankly, it's a waiting game the US, EU, Iran, and Israel are wagering on as to who can outlast the other. The West has put all their eggs in the basket of sanctions, cyber warfare, and covert operations while Iran believes it can weather the western storm and achieve nuclear status. And don't think for one moment that Iran is in this alone. You can bet Russia (including some of the former Soviet bloc nations), China, and North Korea, to name a few, are somewhere lurking in the shadows.
So what does this all mean in the short run? Contrary to what many in the prophetic world are claiming, I don't see the Middle East exploding into war on this side of the 2012 US presidential elections. Oil prices have been on a steady decline and are predicted to continue in that direction due to slowing economic conditions in China, the EU, and India, and the belief that a near-term attack on Iran's nuclear facilities is unlikely.
So what about the future of Syria? I don't foresee Syrian President Basher Assad being removed or a NATO intervention taking place before the US elections either. Yes, Turkey is upset over the downing of one of their military jets, but not enough to enter a war with Syria. Besides, they would first have to get permission from the US who would never allow it. Why do you think they chose to consult NATO before deciding on what their response would be?
To the US, Syria is a nation that brings no real value to the table. Unlike Libya, they're not an oil producing country, and they don't really possess anything the US considers of interest to liberate. Despite a full blown Syrian civil war going on oil prices continue to drop. Why would US President Obama want to put the US in another conflict (likely upsetting US voters) on the heels of a close re-election bid? Low oil prices, a stronger economy, and pulling out of war zones is his number-one concern...not liberating a country for which he has little to no US interests in.
So what about Egypt? In the short run, I see the military generals maintaining control. However, that may change over time. Some analyst believe what's going on in Egypt is exactly the same path Islamic revolutionaries took before hijacking the pro-US Iranian government back in the late 1970s. Will the Muslim Brotherhood hijack the hearts of the Egyptian people as the Ayatollah's did in Iran? In Isaiah 19:4, it is prophesied that Egypt will one day be ruled by a 'fierce king'. Many prophecy experts believe this prophecy has yet to be fulfilled and could be realized through the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood. Only time will tell.
I see a lot of sword rattling throughout the Middle East for the summer and on into the fall but no war. However, this will eventually set the stage for its final purpose, an attack against Israel that will end in a miraculous defeat for Russia and the Islamic world (Ezekiel 38 & 39).
Keep looking up, for the rapture could happen today.
Breaking News: The United States has quietly moved significant military reinforcements into the Persian Gulf to deter the Iranian military from any possible attempt to shut the Strait of Hormuz and to increase the number of fighter jets capable of striking deep into Iran if the standoff over its nuclear program escalates (The New York Times).
