Olmert Assembles Inexperienced Negotiating Team To Face Off Against Harden Palestinians
Earlier this week, US President George Bush told the world that he believed all religions were praying to the same God. Next week, he will attend an awards ceremony where exiled Tibetan leader, the Dalai Lama, will receive a Congress medal at the bastion of American democracy. In doing so, Mr. Bush has angered the government of China.
Prominent Muslim scholars are reaching out to Christian leaders to come together with them and find common ground between the two religions. In their open letter, they indicated that Muslims have no desire to war with Christians and that each group should work together for the sake of the survival of the world. "Together they (Muslims and Christians) make up more than 55 per cent of the population, making the relationship between these two religious communities the most important factor in contributing to meaningful peace around the world. If Muslims and Christians are not at peace, the world cannot be at peace." http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23416235-details/Muslims+tell+Christians:+'Make+peace+with+us+or+survival+of+world+is+at+stake'/article.do
Christian prophecy experts have been calling for a one world religion for many years. I can say with confidence that we are witnessing the actual outward manifestation of this movement toward a one world religion with US President Bush leading the way. But don't get this mixed up with the ultimate one world religion which will see the antichrist rise up and declare himself to be God. This is merely a pretext to that fateful event.
Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat has stated that negotiations are over and that it is time to get to the decision making process. He has also said that the peace process is closer to completion than it has ever been, but I'm afraid that Israel is selling themselves down the river. Not only that, Palestinian leader Abbas has come at the Israeli team with an all or nothing proposition or the armed resistance continues.
Just today, Israeli undercover troops shot and killed a would-be suicide bomber and took captive his driver. Israeli military sources have learned that he (suicide bomber) was a member of Mr. Abbas' Fatah al Aqsa Brigades. This was the eighth suicide attempt in a month and military officials are beginning to worry about this sudden escalation. There seems to be a message from all the surrounding terrorist groups that if peace does not prevail this is what Israel has to look forward to. Apparently, Yasser Arafat used this same tactic leading up to negotiations from 2000 to 2004 (source: Debkafile).
Debkafile has also reported that there is a stark difference in experience regarding the two participating negotiation teams.
"They also gave him due notice of the hardening of Abbas’ approach to negotiations with Israel. It was indicated by the appointment of Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala), prime minister under Arafat and an old hand in beating Israel down by bazaar tactics, to lead the Palestinian negotiating team. Olmert was advised to ginger up the Israeli team which, aside from Maj. Gen (ret) Amos Gilead, consists of officials and lawyers who have no experience in the wiles of hard bargaining with Palestinians.
Whereas Abbas has assembled a top team for the conference, the Israeli side appears unready and short of firm positions, well-chosen arguments and effective rhetoric. Israel will find itself standing practically alone, with the scales weighted against its team by participants who are predominantly hostile and sympathetic to radical Palestinian positions. Palestinian propagandists are already pressing their international advantage with aggressive campaigns to prepare the ground for the hard crunch at Annapolis." http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=4663
Hopefully this report is an extreme exaggeration, but if it's true, Israel will be walking into a lions den at the November peace summit in Annapolis.
But even in the face of adversity, Israeli leaders are very serious about the upcoming summit and the prospects for peace. To give you an example, a right wing TV campaign by "If I Forget Thee - On Behalf of Jerusalem's Future" Association has been running in all the newspapers and media outlets in Israel except Second Television and Radio Authority, a governmental body. They alone have refused to run the ads aimed at garnishing support for an undivided Jerusalem which would be detrimental to the upcoming peace talks.
Even though we have spent a lot of time talking about the upcoming November Middle East peace summit you should be reminded that the next step in Bible prophecy is the rapture of the church. So keep looking up because the Lord could come at any moment.
Alert: "Debkafile's Jerusalem sources report that Israel’s security and army chiefs have warned prime minister Ehud Olmert that a dangerous situation is boiling up and called for his urgent attention. He responded that now was not the time and he would get back to the problem in a few days." http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=4663
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
