Israeli Intelligence: 'The United States Has Failed To Stop Iran'
World

The U.S. National Intelligence Estimate has infuriated senior intelligence
officials here who have warned the government that the Bush administration has
abandoned Israel to a nuclear Iran.
Government sources said the Israeli intelligence community briefed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Wednesday on the repercussions of the U.S. National Intelligence Estimate, which asserted that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program. The sources said the intelligence community termed NIE the clearest indication of a disengagement by the Bush administration from the Middle East.
A government source said Israel was stunned by NIE. The source said that neither Bush nor his aides discussed with Olmert or Defense Minister Ehud Barak NIE's conclusion that Iran halted its nuclear weapons program in 2003. Both Israelis were in Washington a week before NIE was released on Dec. 3.
"The U.S. failure to discuss NIE with us before its release shows how worthless the White House promises were of a strategic dialogue," the Israeli source said.

International peace envoy and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on
Wednesday refused to recognize Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state while
addressing a gathering of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
During the session, right-wing Israeli lawmaker and committee member Limor Livnat asked Blair if he supported Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas' refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Blair's refusal to answer the question reportedly infuriated committee members.
Blair went on to say that if he was an Israeli lawmaker today, he too would be wary of surrendering more land to the Palestinian Arabs after Israel's attempt to peacefully hand over the Gaza Strip in 2005 resulted in the establishment of a heavily-armed Hamas-controlled terrorist haven from which daily artillery attacks are launched on Israel.
Nevertheless, the former British leader said Israel has no choice but to move ahead with the land concessions he and the rest of the international community insist are the only path to peace.

US President George W. Bush is set to take a more active role in the
Israeli-Palestinian peace process, his top diplomat said in an interview
transcript released Wednesday.
US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told USA Today Bush would be visiting the region because "he very much wants to signal support for the bilateral process between the parties and to continue in a hands-on way to encourage them to move forward."

The Israeli military used cyberwar techniques to help blind Syrian air
defenses prior to its strike on an alleged nuclear facility at Dayr az-Zawr.
The magazine Aviation Week recently reported that the main attack by the Israeli Defense Forces was preceded by an engagement with a single Syrian radar site at Tall al-Abuad near the Turkish border.
The radar station "was assaulted with what appears to be a combination of electronic attack and precision bombs," causing the whole Syrian air defense radar system to go offline "for a period of time that included the raid," the magazine reported, citing unnamed U.S. intelligence and Israeli military sources.
The sources said the Israeli attack "involved both remote air-to-ground electronic attack and penetration through computer-to-computer links."

Pakistani security officials arrested the alleged al-Qaeda members from
the Malir area, and seized a large cache of ammunition, local news networks
reported.
Sources said that the detainees told interrogators that they were plotting to
kill Musharraf during his next trip to Karachi.
The terrorists planned to blow up a bridge on Drig Road when Musharraf's convoy
was traveling over it.
They reportedly planned two more attacks in case Musharraf survived the first
one.
Analysis
Despite the fact that the US-Iranian understanding (deal) is
out in the open, don't look for things to change as far as Middle East peace is
concerned. The US will still lead and dictate what Israel can and cannot
do...and they will, at some point, be forced into complying. As Tony Blair stated in the
Israel
Today article, "Israel has no choice but to move
ahead with the land concessions he and the rest of the international community
insist are the only path to peace."
Does this mean there is smooth sailing ahead for the peace plan? Not hardly! It will still take a miracle for peace to be established during the Bush administration, especially with this blatant betrayal out on the table.
Some Israeli officials insist they may have to wait until the next administration takes office for peace to be established. I would have to say that's a likely scenario but we could be in for some shocking developments in the very near future.
Take a look at the World Tribune article. It will give you an idea of what Israel's thoughts are regarding the recent US NIE report.
European Union leaders today made a landmark decision to ratify the EU treaty, a slimmed down version of the European Constitution, that will make it possible to have a permanent president in place by early 2009.
Many prophecy experts believe that this is a giant step in the process of the rise of the new Roman Empire where a future leader known as the antichrist will come forth.
Are you ready to meet the Lord? If not, your time is running out!
