Stocks tumble as bailout plan fails; Is Iran Readying for War?

It amazes me that the world press continuously confirms what the Bible predicted thousands of years ago.  Here, in this article by Foreign Policy Magazine, the reporter points out that Israel, against all odds, has come back from the dead to make their desert land bloom again.   All scripture references have been inserted by me:

"Imagine that Israel never existed. Would the economic malaise and political repression that drive angry young men to become suicide bombers vanish? Would the Palestinians have an independent state? Would the United States, freed of its burdensome ally, suddenly find itself beloved throughout the Muslim world? Wishful thinking. Far from creating tensions, Israel actually contains more antagonisms than it causes."

"Since World War II, no state has suffered so cruel a reversal of fortunes as Israel. Admired all the way into the 1970s as the state of 'those plucky Jews' who survived against all odds [Isaiah 43:5-6; Amos 9:14-15] and made democracy and the desert bloom in a climate hostile to both liberty and greenery [Isaiah 41:18-20], Israel has become the target of creeping delegitimization."  Foreign Policy

It has been rumored that the international community is attempting to keep the Israeli public from knowing the real progress behind the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.  Realizing that many in Israel would object to the majority of what is being agreed upon, international negotiators are maintaining a code of silence in an attempt to push through a binding agreement before US President Bush leaves office in January of 2009.

"Quartet leaders meeting in New York at the opening of the UN General Assembly insisted that it is vitally important to the very integrity of the peace process that Israelis be kept in the dark about what their leaders are offering to the Palestinians."

"In a statement released via the US State Department, the Quartet "noted the significance of this process and the importance of confidentiality in order to preserve its integrity.'"

"Referring in the next line to the 'irreversibility of the negotiations,' the Quartet also took it upon itself to determine that the current formula whereby Israel can test different offers to the Palestinians without actually committing to future concessions will no longer fly."  Israel Today

It looks certain international sanctions will fail against Iran and Russia is all too happy to help the situation along.  In the wake of refusing the latest round of UN sanctions, Iran looks to be preparing for the inevitability of a military strike from either Israel or the US very soon.

"Amid fears that the United States or possibly Israel could attempt to carry out air strikes against Iran to destroy as much as possible of its nuclear building program, the Islamic Republic has implemented a number of changes to its defense infrastructure." ME Times

If in fact, quartet negotiators are shielding the truth from the Israeli public, we may have a peace agreement very soon, which I believe, for the sake of peace, would put a halt any proposed military strike against Iran.
