Blair encourages Hamas involvement 'on the right terms'; What a long-term truce could lead to
Hamas should be part of the Middle East peace process, according to Tony Blair, former prime minister and Middle East envoy of the Quartet Powers (United States, United Kingdom, Russia and the European Union).
"I do think it is important that we find a way of bringing Hamas into this process, but it can only be done if Hamas are prepared to do it on the right terms," Blair said. "If you do this in the wrong way it can destabilize the very people in Palestine who have been working all through for the moderate cause." Ynetnews.com
Tony Blair, Middle East envoy of the Quartet Powers, stated in an interview with a London paper that Hamas needed to be included in future Middle East peace negotiations but only under the right terms. His statements were immediately dismissed by a Hamas spokesman as "worthless and stupid" but did prove to recognize Hamas as a powerful force in the region.
With the US cozying up to Iran behind the scenes, I'm beginning to think that both Hamas and Iran (and Syria) may end up being included in the future peace accord with many (Daniel 9:25-27). Also, this recent Israeli mega natural gas find (and those that follow) may prove to be the hook that brings Russia down upon Israel (Ezekiel 38:1-4). There is no doubt in my mind that this first initial discovery is only the beginning. According to the Bible, I have to assume that this announcement caught the attention of the Russian leadership of the enormous potential that could lie just beneath Israel. If another major find comes out of Israel look for the hook to be set.
But getting back to the seven-year accord with many that the Antichrist will bring. Certainly, the time limit alerts one that it is unlikely to be a peace accord due to the attached time limitation. Most peace agreements are entered into with the intent of perpetual peace between the parties. Of course, in this world, permanent peace has never been achieved, but that's usually the stated goal. Could it be that this seven-year agreement will start with the intent of ending all hostilities for seven-years (cease-fire) in an attempt to work on the Middle East without continued sparks of violence that have prevented success?
Immediately, a Palestinian state will be born with the issue of dividing Jerusalem to be resolved within the cease-fire. Negotiations regarding other hotbed issues (Iran, Syria, nuclear weapons, etc.) will also be simultaneously worked on as the cease-fire progresses. But in order for this to work, the powers that be will have to work with Iran and Syria in order to rein in Hamas and Hezbollah for the given time period. I believe they may cooperate in this global peace move, but only on the surface. With both Iran and Syria cooperating, and reigning in their terrorist network, this will place Israel under intense pressure to make concession and eventually divide Jerusalem. But in the end, they will do an about-face and refuse to divide Jerusalem. I believe their abrupt refusal will bring down the wrath of the Antichrist and his Allied forces. This may very well be the reason behind how Armageddon begins (Revelation 16:16) and why the book of Zechariah makes this last days prediction:
"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:2 & 3)
I believe this time when "all the people of the earth [will] be gathered together against" them could come when Israel refuses to divide Jerusalem which would have been the final piece of the Palestinian state.
This is speculation and how this will eventually be played out is still a mystery. Certainly, the prospect of the Battle of Gog and Magog, the march of the Eastern army, Holy Temple being rebuilt and its eventual desecration could prove a problem in making this theory work in the end. But as we continue to watch, the pieces of the puzzle continue to be laid in place in rapid succession. Soon, the puzzle will be complete!
Something else that you should be cognizant of...I have never heard so much talk from global leaders about ushering in a new world order as I have in the past three or four months. It's both shocking and prophetic.
