Report: Iran will have nuclear weapons this year; They have enough nuclear material to make 50 nuclear bombs
Senior Palestinian Authority officials believe that now is the time to exert massive international pressure on Israel, following US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit to the region and ahead of the establishment of a new Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu. "There is an opportunity for the world to strongly enter the diplomatic negotiations and impose the two-state solution on Israel," a senior PA official told Ynet on Friday. Ynetnews.com
Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned on Friday
that it would not be possible to reach a peace accord with the Palestinians if
Israel did not cede part of Jerusalem to them.
"There won't be peace if part of Jerusalem does not become the capital of
the Palestinian state," said Olmert, speaking at Kibbutz Yifat in the
Galilee. Haaretz.com
It will be very interesting to see how much pressure will be exerted upon the Netanyahu administration in the coming months to accept the creation of a Palestinian state. Many in Israel are against ceding any part of Jerusalem, but with US backing, it will be hard to overcome the pressure. According to reports, the US is already financially supporting the infrastructure presently being built to support a future Palestinian capital.
Another report has come out that Prime Minister-elect Netanyahu has come to an agreement with Yisrael Beiteinu chief Avigdor Lieberman. The reason this is significant is because Mr. Lieberman stated that he was not opposed to the creation of a Palestinian state. Many see Mr. Lieberman's about-face regarding a Palestinian state as an attempt to placate the West.
Here's something that should concern everyone. According to a US report, Iran is well on its way to becoming a nuclear power by the end of the year.
Iran already has all the material it needs to build a nuclear weapon, and is likely to succeed in that goal by the end of the year, warned a study carried out by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
According to the study, Iran is believed to currently be in possession of enough fissionable material to build 50 nuclear warheads. Israel Today
If this report is correct, the time for diplomacy is over. If Iran has purchased enough fissionable material and equipment to create 50 nuclear warheads, then they've already made up their mind as to which direction they will be taking.
Does this mean war is inevitable? As far as I'm concerned, the Bible does not support Israel attacking Iran, but it does support Iran attacking Israel during a time when Israel will be living in peace and safety. Does that mean it won't happen...not necessarily. Unless someone comes forward and preempts this confrontation it will likely take place. Which means both Israel and Iran would live to fight another day. At some point, peace would have to be established prior to their attack as prophesied in Ezekiel 38 in order for Scripture to be fulfilled:
"And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates" (verse 11)
Certainly, the phrase "dwell safely" could mean that due to Israel's strong and powerful army, they are able to dwell safely surrounded by all their enemies. And if you look back into Jewish history they are living about as safe as they've ever been since they fell to the Babylonian's in 605 BC.
One other thing, Iran may be taking delivery of the Russian S-300 surface-to-air missile system in the very near future which will make Israel's job of destroying their nuclear infrastructure that much more difficult.
"Israeli leaders seem convinced that at least for now, they have a military option," the report states.
"However, Israelis see the option fading over the next one to two years, not only because of Iran's nuclear progress and dispersion of its program but also because of improved Iranian air defenses, especially the expected delivery of the S-300. ... Israel therefore may feel compelled to act before the option disappears." Foxnews.com
